50 yards along quiet lane to the sea, lovely dramatic waves and beach, everything you could want at the cottage, clean, new, thoughtful and welcoming
Their description doesn't include there's a cafetiere in the kitchen, even insulated mugs to take to the beach with you.
Take a big bright torch if you want to watch the dramatic sea at night, as it's pitch black down there.
We saw a seal that didn't look right, but the shore and seal rescue service and RSPCA were very responsive
23-27 December, Christmas getaway, my wife and I and Rocco our dog.
WOW - where do you start, a superbly presented modern cottage with every conceivable home appliance and utensil. Dimmock cottage is incredibly well appointed with modern quality fixtures and fittings and is very spacious and spotlessly clean throughout. There is the added bonus of a fully enclosed rear garden reached by either the patio doors or kitchen door, ideal for children or your four legged friend. The beds were very comfortable as was the living room and dining room furniture. Dimmock cottage really is your “home from home” and gives you a warm secure comfortable feeling. The extras ; DVDs, PlayStation, toys, books, games, beach equipment etc are endless with great thought being given to ensure everyone is catered for. The cottage was very tastefully decorated for us to celebrate Christmas away from home, including wonderful personalised special touches. The welcome hamper was amazingly generous with quality items including goodies for Rocco. Believe it, the beach really is only a couple of hundred yards away down a no through traffic lane and was great even at this time of the year (the central heating was greatly appreciated and welcoming). We took a few floor rugs and floor runners with us (as we advised the owners we would) as the downstairs is laid with wooden floors throughout, just a thought if your dog skates on these types of floors as ours does. This is no way is a criticism of Dimmock cottage-just advice for considerate dog lovers like us.
Would we return, in a heartbeat, do we recommend Dimmock, absolutely!
Another super holiday at Dimmock Cottage, we did so much Dinosaur Land well worth a day trip, perfect location out of the front door 1 minute to the super uncrowded beach, booking easy and owners very pleasant and helpful, brilliant welcome hamper, just didn't want to leave. Will definitely be back next year especially if my two little granddaughters have a say in the decision. Thank you Mr and Mrs Fletcher.
Dimmock Cottage is the perfect place for a holiday by the sea. The cottage is like a home from home filled with everything you need- the games and dvd's great for keeping the young and the older occupied. The hampers left for us and the dog were great, everything you could need and more. The cottage was spotless, lovely and spacious.
The beach is so close to the cottage, we spent many hours on the lovely sandy beach with the Poachers Pocket motel great for a meal and a drink on the seafront.
Mundesley a short drive away, the crazy golf is a must. The seals at Horsey are well worth the walk to the beach, amazing sight. Cromer festival was on during our visit, we had a great day at the carnival.
I would definitely recommend Dimmock cottage for a lovely relaxing holiday.
This cottage is fantastic and we would all definitely like to go back again. We stayed in Dimmock Cottage for May half term week and had an amazing time. The welcome hampers were brilliant with thoughtful items for us and our cocker spaniel Oscar even had his own hamper too which was a lovely surprise. The cottage is immaculate with lots of space for everyone and so many thoughtful touches. We immediately relaxed and felt at home. The lovely sandy beach is a short stroll at the end of the road and is a real treat. We went every day and still miss it even tough we live on the south coast. It's all pebbles here! The weather was great all week so we were really lucky. We visited Cromer, Sheringham and Great Yarmouth. We went crabbing at West Runton which was great fun and we went to see the seals at Horsey (twice!). We have never been to Norfolk before but found it very easy to get around and all these places were only a short drive away. There are plenty of places to eat near the cottage and we tried most of them. Sugar & Spice cafe, The Poachers Pocket, The Lighthouse, Kingfisher Fish & Chips and a great Chinese for takeaways. We played some of the great games available at the cottage with giant garden Jenga a favourite. We loved Dimmock Cottage, we loved the location and we loved Norfolk. Thanks for a great holiday.
Dimmock Cottage is right on the sea making days at the beach easy! My dog was allowed to stay and was even thought of in the welcome hamper. The booking process was easy and the immediate area has mostly everything you need for a beach holiday. We travelled further afield and found lots to do within a half hour drive. The extra touches of Easter themed decoration and an egg decorating kits were just lovely. Thanks so much!
