We loved the room, looks like its been done up, nice crip white bedding and towels. Tea, coffee and water in the room which always goes down well with me. The breakfast was chose of 3 cereals, tea/coffee and full English. They was a sort of orange juice stay away from this , it was NOT fresh orange. We had travelled down at tea time so thougt we would eat in the resturant now that was not a good idea, found the food below average, over priced and they had a specials board with only 1 thing on it. The menu said ask what the fish of the day is, so we did, they was none.
The pub was very good with a nice selection of real ale.
B&B cost. £75 which we thought was good. Only one thing I forgot to say was that they are a number of rooms which you can pick BUT it would be nice to be able to see the different rooms on the web site.
Our evening meal 1 goats cheese and some very sorry rocket 1 black pudding, and 2 not cooked very well fish and chips cost us £30.90

Until 34 years ago the White Lion was my local. I returned this weekend for a reunion with old friends on the anniversary of the funeral of the landlady from the days when it had been my local. The pub has changed as one might expect, in the 60s and 70s it was a simple local pub, with no accommodation and basic bar food, and a small choice of good local beer. I had dropped in if in the area in recent years and had not been over impressed. This time I was very pleasantly surprised, there have been some structural changes, very well executed, to provide good bars and a nice restaurant area. We ate there on Saturday evening, my whitebait was excellent, (not at all soggy as i had read in a recent review) my fish and chips was tasty, not at all greasy, and my wife enjoyed her steak. This mornings breakfast was also very good (though the fruit juice could be improved). The accommodation was in one of the rooms across the car park, by the garden; a compact room, fine for a nights sleep but not ideal if you are the sort to spend the evening in your room rather than in the pub. A delightful week-end, meeting some good friends from the past who have used the Lion as a local. We all felt that the current landlord and staff are doing a fine job and though it has changed t is still a good local pub, proving a great welcome.

we stayed for 1 night in october with a Groupon deal and loved it. the building is very old and the owners have managed to enhance the traditonal features with modern twists it really works! The pub is a proper village pub and the menu was gorgeous - had steak, ratatouille - beautiful.

The manager and manageress took the time to speak to the guests which was a lovely personal touch and breakfast was divine - we would definately stay there again!

If you like an old English style inn this is the place to stay. Rooms were period rooms with modern facilities. Very clean, lovely breakfast. No complaints at all. Wonderful!

We stayed here for just one night but would have gladly spent a few more nights here relaxing.
The decor is immaculate and impeccable in taste.
The staff cannot do enough to help.
The breakfast was very tasty. We did not get chance to sample the evening food as food was not being served on Sunday evenings.
The room, room 7 was finished to a high standard, comfortable and spacious.
I would definitely recommend this little pubs accomodation.
Ideally located for the NEC, Birmingham airport and great motorway access.
We wanted just a night away for some peace and quiet and will definitely be booking as a regular place to stay.
