“Great setting lovely food”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

We have been visiting this restaurant for around 6 years now and it's always very consistent. Food quality and service are always excellent and good value. It's our favourite eating place and there is quite a choice within a 5 mile radius.
The restaurant itself is authentic rather than smart but the proprietor and staff are always very welcoming and pleasant. Highly recommended.
Mornac is a pretty little quiet village on the edge of the salt marshes and oyster producing area. It's a real hidden gem!

“Great food and customer service”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

We ate in that restaurant twice in one week. Our meals, both times a la carte were excellent. Fresh produce, beautifully cooked, decent portions- example, escalope de foie gras. Young lady who was looking after us was fantastic. Competent, flexible and with great customer service attitude and skills. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary there. 2 glasses of champagnes were offered to us in the beginning and in end of the meal ! The ambiance is pleasant, with a non intrusive background music. The whole experience would have been even more pleasant if the entrance was maintained a bit better. But all in all a rare find - a combination of great cuisine and superb service. We will certainly return if we are in the area.

“Food heaven”
Reviewed January 8, 2012

I discovered this incredible restaurant for the first time in October 2007 and although I have eaten here many times since then, (more than 20 times and unfortunately for me not since August 2010) neither I nor any of my dining companions have ever been anything less than totally satisfied and left dreaming of when we might return.
The proprietor and chef, Franck Berthier, with his small team of the most excellent and attentive staff treat their guests to a dining experience the likes of which I have rarely enjoyed elsewhere in my 51 years !
The food is fresh, exciting and expertly prepared and served to you as if you were the last diner on Earth! The menus are hand written daily on small blackboards and offer incredible value especially if you choose a formula of your choice. Seafood and shellfish are particularly good but don't miss the opportunity to enjoy the most divine fillet steak with foie gras. Desserts are something to relish and with coffees and digestif to finish a meal here can stretch well into the afternoon or evening. Depending on the season and the weather conditions dining on the terrace overlooking the marsh is exquisite but indoors is equally cosy and welcoming.
For us with two small boys the best bit is that Franck does not have a children's menu but rather prefers to prepare a small plate of whatever delights he is preparing that day for a very reasonable price and the children have never complained.
I am trying to think of even a minor quibble but I am delighted to say that as of now there hasn't ever been one!
Hope I get to visit Mornac in 2012 but if not there is always next year!
