“Travel back in time”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

When you stay at this beautiful and ancient building that was built about 200 years ago ,with it's 1m thick stone walls it is like traveling back in time. Situated in the very graphic town of Zagora in exceptionally beautiful and lush green Pelion the owners offer a very rich and tasty breakfast and are very warm and helpful. Generally Pelion - the land of the Unicorns- is one of the most beautiful parts of Greece and combines beautiful mountains and exotic beaches.

Room Tip: If you need to relax and find peace of mind - highly recommended

After 10 years of going to Pelion I consider Archontiko Stamou as the best choice for its price range. They offer a quality stay in all aspects. Rooms decorated in detail, friendly atmosphere (you feel more than a family guest than a client), homemade breakfast with different ingredients each day and a marvelous garden to hang out in the morning or have a drink during evening.

Very nice and well decorated rooms (as it was in the beginning of the 19th century). Very gentle to have a bottle of home made liquer as a welcome to each newcomer. We had a small apartment consisting of 2 rooms and a very nice veranda. The garden is just marvellous. And we liked very much to stay for hours in the bar "Anamella" for eating, drinking or just playing games. The young owner and his relatives are very kind to help and to show the attractions (there is a lot to do in Zagora and generally in mountain Pilion), but sometimes there is noone present at the reception desk (perhaps a second person is necessary ). Breakfast rich (for a guesthouse) and all home made.
