My husband and I spend 4 magical days at this hotel. As previous reviewers have mentioned, it's architecturally stunning. It's obvious that the owners aimed for a seamless blend with nature and the surroundings and they have achieved this. From the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends. I must admit, it took me a good 2 days to fully relax and come 'round to their way of living and service but this is not a reflexion on the staff/hotel but rather on the hectic pace of life in London. For instance, there's no hard and fast rules on when to book dinner, lunch etc. Just show up when you feel like it! Breakfast is served till around 10am which is great for a lie-in. There's no lunchmenu which I found odd initially but only because I'm used to the set "rules" and order of a "normal" hotel. Instead, tell them what you're in the mood for and they'll make you something delicious. Evening meals- again no menu as such. The waiter will tell you the dishes of the day and let you decide on one. Again- seemed strange initially but we soon came 'round to this relaxed approach. Don't go on a tight budget though as with no menu there's also no price. We didn't ask- found out the total bill for total stay when we checked out. We tried several Portuguese wines as recommended for us- all delicious. It's worth mentioning that all the fruit and veg is grown in the hotel's vegetable garden and all organic. Hubby and I ventured down to the beach one day and had a snoop around the veg garden. The lovely gardeners invited us in and we had a nibble of the fresh strawberries- YUM. Speaking of yum- a HUGE thank you to the lovely lady who baked the surprise cake for me, it was absolutely delicious. Such a shame we forgot some of it there when we left.

The rooms are stunning. They are all unique and I'm already planning our next trip to try a different one. We stayed in Prata and the bathroom had me speechless. There's no mini bar or tv in the room and although I did miss the mini bar aspect, it would have ruined the whole look of the room and it was absolutely fine for our short stay. I can imagine it being a bit of a issue for long stays though. Hubby and I had a back and shoulder massage in the spa and it was lovely. Next time I'm booking two! I left feeling relaxed, at peace and with some amazing new music on my iphone- I forgot her name but we chatted for ages, thanks for all the recommendations!!

Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Room Tip: They are all amazing!

You have to admit some parts of this hotel are stunning, but we felt it tried too hard to be cool and different, that it lacked atmosphere and comfort. The rooms are interestingly designed and a good experience, for some reason the place didnt click with us, we just didn't find all the concrete and lack of comfy seating like on the terraces very relaxing. We were told the pool was heated which was part of the reason we decided to stay in April, but at 17 degrees this wasn't warm enough so we were dissapointed we couldn't swim.
The food is ok, but for 5 nights it would get boring, there is nothing local and you need a car.
For the price of the rooms we expected more variety for breakfast, nothing cooked on offer, we had the same selection of breakfast every morning.
Worth a visit for a couple of nights, or when warm enough to enjoy the pool.

I just spent 4 days at this hotel and can honestly say this has been one of my most enjoyable hotel experiences ever.
Immediately upon arrival you are greeted by happy, warm and welcoming members of the hotel staff. The architecture and decor is stunning and is perfectly thought out. The owners could have built any kind of hotel on this land - which is in a very appealling location just on the coast - but they have chosen to go for a very nature friendly approach with a focus on preservation which offers true relaxation and tranquility. Their personal engagement with guests is such a pleasant addition to your stay.
All the food prepared in the kitchen of the hotel comes from the organic garden and farm land surrounding the property and is delicious and healthy.

You will spend your time here feeling as if you are visiting friends and family and you will leave missing them. I am already looking at my next weekend when I can go stay here again. Absolute bliss!!

This hotel is unlike anywhere else we have stayed.

There are many good things to say about the hotel; but, for us, the stand out feature was undoubtedly its staff. The atmosphere created by them is one of informal, relaxed luxury, which is achieved through faultless attention to the needs of its guests. We arrived at the hotel three hours before our designated check in time, in the midst of preparations for a wedding breakfast. In spite of this we were welcomed like old friends, and provided with a full (and delicious) lunch menu, while our room was made ready. This set the tone for a wonderful week in this beautiful place.

Marta and her dedicated team could not have been more charming or helpful. They went out of the way to provide us with good advise about local trips, walks and other restaurants. It was a real pleasure to talk to people with a real understanding of this part of Portugal, which we now know much better than we did before. We stayed for seven nights, at the end of which we felt very much part of the 'family'.

The hotel itself has a stunning, low profile contemporary design, but manages to retain a very intimate feel. We stayed in Nha Cretchau, one of only ten rooms. Once again, everything in the room engenders a feeling of calm and peace, which is rare in most modern hotels. Probably the most relaxing room we have ever experienced.

The location is an easy drive from Lisbon airport. The local beaches can be reached by a short walk through sand dunes, which bring you to the cliff top. From there you can descend to the beaches, or take walks in both directions through spectacular costal scenery. Further afield, it is a relatively easy drive to a number of places of interest such as Obidos, Sintra, Mafra, Ericeira and Peniche.

The delicious food, much of which is locally sourced, offers a menu based firmly on traditional Portuguese cuisine. The Wine List also contains an extensive, first class range of mainly Portuguese wines, which we enjoyed very much. All other hotel amenities were to a similar high quality, including the pool, Spa and general landscaping.

This is a hotel that manages to combine impressive modern design and architecture, with a truly personal style that makes guests instantly welcome and relaxed. It can be enjoyed at many levels, but we found the best approach was to relax and immerse ourselves in a truly unique experience.

Room Tip: Nha Cretchau is simply stunning. It is detached from, and slightly larger than, other rooms; but we...

Rarely in life do you find places like this, so close to home, that just makes you wish you could leave everything behind and stay forever, this augmented by the fact that such a perfect heaven is found in my country, a Portugal gem near Lisbon and by the sea, this is Areias do Seixo.

This magic spot is located in Santa Cruz, a mere 30 minute drive from Lisbon. A coastline populated with gracious wild beaches and historic towns like Óbidos, known as the West Coast. Read my full review at: http://www.wlifestyle.net/areias-do-seixo.html

Areias do Seixo is simply otherworldly. Staying there is like being in a bubble. The hotel is truly stunningly designed. Even the smallest rooms are very large and unique. The staff is cool and laid back. This is not a hotel where you should expect white glove immediate service, but rather a place where you should put your watch and phone in your bag and not take them out until you leave. The owner hosts wine tasting by the fire most nights, and like the staff she is very friendly. The hotel restaurant is very good, and serves fresh local food most of it grown at the hotel. Certainly the best in the area. If this hotel were in California, it would be $600 to $1000 a night, without doubt.

The hotel is adjacent to a large beachfront park. The beach itself is a 5 minute hike through the sand dunes, and is accessible to the public, but as long as you don't go in the high summer season it is mostly deserted.

This is an architecturally stunning hotel. Designer boho chic everywhere you look. Our room was beautiful, as were all the others - yes we had a nosy! The pool and especially the spa are are great. My wife had a massage which comes highly recommended.
The stroll down to the beach was really peaceful, one day we had the beach to ourselves.

I'm the only person not to award this hotel 5 stars, for the following reasons.

The food was really disappointing, definitely not good enough and not up to the standards of the rest of the hotel.
We also got frustrated by having a huge sunny deck, with only a sunbed for one person, we thought this was a real shame, as it's so close to being perfect.

In conclusion, this is a stunning hotel, iron out the issues outlined above and it could be perfect.

Room Tip: All the rooms are amazing, the best we saw was Nha cretcheu - beautiful!!
