Myself and my new husband held our wedding reception at this hotel and also stayed over after the wedding. We stayed in the Adam and Eve suite. To say that this suite was fabulous is an understatement! A beautiful suite with beautiful views. The staff were fabulous, so friendly and polite. They couldnt do enough for us. This hotel is a definate must for any couple planning a wedding in Gretna Green.

Stayed at The Gretna Chase 10th and 11th April for our wedding. The staff were great and nothing was a trouble to them, so helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Adam and Eve suite which was an impressive bridal room, plenty of room to get ready, very clean, four poster bed and jacuzzi. The grounds are very well maintained and clean with lovely views. The food was amazing! Felt very homely and friendly. All the rooms were together which was great. I cannot praise the hotel and staff enough. We will defo be back. Thanks to everyone at the The Gretna Chase :-)

I would say if you are looking at getting married in Gretna Green definitely consider staying at this hotel!

Had an overnight stop here the other week there. This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel and found it to be a pleasant experience. as usual, there was a wedding taking place but this did not detract from my experience. The rooms are a really good size with plenty of facilities. The food was up to the standard expected and overall I enjoyed my brief stay at this location. I would recommend it and would definitely return and would have no hesitation in recommending it as a pleasant stop off.

Room Tip: far side of hotel best and not above function suite although soundproofing is good.

The Gretna Chase Hotel where we stayed for our wedding from Friday 2nd March to Sunday 4th March was simply the best hotel experience you could have ever asked for. The cleanliness of the rooms/hotel and the politeness and friendlyness of all the staff was outstanding and the food, well, was just out of this world. We would very highly recommend any steak from the bar menu and any other meal to that matter as our party of 28 had varied meals from the bar and all comments torwards the food were outstanding. All their staff couldn't do enough for all of us to make our stay the best ever.

on our Wedding Day, the 3rd March, the staff were just fantastic. They set up the room and tables exactly as we had said and really couldn't fault it at all. They were all on hand to make sure everyone was happy and comfortable and really were just brilliant. The meal was out of this world . We had the beef which was just 5 star quality.

The comments from all the people that came and stayed are the same as ours and some will even return for a short break. The Gretna Chase seems so much more than a 3 star small hotel and really deserves at least 4 stars.

Once again, we thank you and all involved so very much and we have had the best time ever.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent and you wouldn't go wrong with any of them.

We got married this valentines day and stayed in the Gretna Chase, the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Claire who set up our reception room beautifully. The meal was fantastic and the girls who served it were lovely, we stayed in the Adam & Eve suite which was stunning with an amazing whirl pool bath, the room had everything you would need or want.
Nothing was to much trouble and we would love to visit again...

Room Tip: The Adam & Eve or any of the bridal suites look amazing.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Located on the Scottish / English border, Gretna Green is world famous for its runaway marriages and in the mid nineteenth century there was much rivalry between the various marriage house proprietors ... The Gretna Chase Hotel was built by John Murray, an extremely successful businessman in the marriage trade, and tenant of Allison's toll-bar. Completed in 1856, Murray built the hotel opposite the toll-bar. It proved very popular with clients, being the first in the area to offer stabling for horses. Today, The Gretna Chase Hotel offers modern amenities, but retains much of its original character. All bedrooms have pleasant views of the surrounding countryside, and public rooms are furnished in a style in-keeping with the age of the hotel. Fully licensed, privately owned and completely supervised by the owners, this small but extremely comfortable hotel offers the discerning guest a carefree informality away from city pressures. We would be delighted to show you around the hotel by appointment , to highlight all the facilities we have to offer and discuss your personal requirements. ... more   less
