“Only Hotel In Gingoog City to Stay”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

Nice clean Hotel in Gingoog City, Mindanao, Philippines. Clean & tidy rooms, very cheap rates. Best room for Couple is the Matrimonial Room @ 1230pesos per night = $28.50 (AUD) @ CURRENT EXHCNAGE RATE OF 43.10
Nice big bed, spacious room, bath-tub & toilet very clean & spacious although the water pressure is very low but that's normal for Provincial Philippines.
Staff are very pleasant & helpful although seem sleepy at times (province time) haha !
Good location right opposite Bus Transit Terminal & good central location to all shopping centres nearby. Room has cable TV service although poor quality reception & air con very strong. Hotel also has back-up Generator as we experienced last night during 4 hour blackout but TV was down all during this time.
WiFi Internet is available from down in the Restaurant only but very weak at times & tends to drop out regularly (normal for provinces).
Restaurant is Chinese/Filipino style good & cheap by Aussie standards which I'll review in Restaurant section.
As this is the only Hotel suitable for International Travellers / Tourist in Gingoog City I cannot compare to any others locally at present until we go to Duka Beach Resort Tomorrow but I hear that is more expensive & further out of town.

Room Tip: Don't get the Executive or Suite No. 1 or 2 as they are located on the bottom floor right next t...

This is whithout a doubt the best place to stay in Gingoog City. As of August 22, 2011 it s prices started at 800 pesos for a couple with a very nice room incl. air con TV a queen and a single comfortable bed. Daily maid service and top caliber employees. The food in the hotels Eastland Restaurant is exceptionally good and although it is full meals, it is priced to compete with the only national fast food restaurant in the Philippines. Great waiter service. Whatever you do, do not stay at R Paola's Beach Resort listed in Agoda and few other websites. I refused to check in once I saw that dump of a place and I had to find this place before I could find a good hotel and good prices. Agoda did the correct thing and refunded my money.

Got a nice room, one of their suites..... it was on the first floor.... However, it was next to the main area of the hotel and shared a wall with the Banquet hall. Banquet hall had something going every single night until 11 pm, then they started cleaning the hall at 5 am for the next night. they also turn off power to your room while you are out. So expect a HOT room when you come back, and have to reset everything. WIFI was charged to me. It was not free. Price was 20php pre hour. And it takes 20 minutes just to get on. the food is mainly filipino but is probably the best in the area next to Jollibee. Taxis are easy to get, and buses, jeepneys easy to catch from the hotel. Just a walk across the road. The hotel is nice. However, the continual banquet hall next to the room, and the chanrging for internet, no free breakfast, and power always being turned off can make for an interesting experience. Also there is church there on Sunday mornings. During that week, there were at least 4 high school proms, the girls were changing in the rooms next to the dining room. If you stay for a long time, expect to pay every 3 to 4 days to keep the bill current. Also, they do not restock the minibar in the room unless you ask them to. Expect to pay when you ask for a restock. the hotel was nice, it was close for my needs at the time. However, had I known more abou the area, I would have stayed elsewhere. I will not be returning to this hotel again. It was not worth the money and time I saved. .

One of few places to stay in Gingoog City Mis. Oriental, and i guess most popular among foreign visitors. Located just in the center of the city, 100m from bus terminal, nearby to the main market area. The hotel provides decent service, considering the place is not a top tourist spot.
Prices are cheap, ranging from 750php per room (good for 2), or 890 (good for 3) - these are rooms i used, up to 1.500 php for executive suite. Well, rooms I stayed in maybe aren't very posh, but still decent. Only bathrooms could do with some renovation - they are not for cleanliness-freaks for sure. But still I found Gingoog Mountain Air Hotel more clean then one hotel in Manila with price 3 times as much. The place was quiet, at least at night, so no problems with sleeping.
Restaurant provides good and also inexpensive service. Meals are ok, nothing spectacular maybe, but keeps standard.
Staff is ok, maybe bit laid-back, but generally helpful.
To sum up, I don't know much about other places to stay in Gingoog to make comparisons, but Gingoog Mount. Air Hotel is for sure the place worth considering during your stay here, especially as for quality/price ratio factor.
