“Girly getaway”
Reviewed October 21, 2018 for a stay in July 2018

After finishing our A levels me and 10 of my girls decided to spend the week in this beautiful house celebrating! Although everyone else had gone to Malia and Zante to celebrate we felt that we had all completely lucked out choosing to come to this spacious house. We spent the week going on long hikes ,lounging by the pool as the weather was beautiful and walking to the beach- finishing the evenings going to the local pubs. We honestly had the best week and would definitely recommend this. The house is beautiful and the location is insane- We can’t wait to organise our next reunion trip here!

We have just stayed four nights at this amazing getaway. The location is amazing and the cottage and grounds are superb, the property is well equipped and has everything you could need for a quite or fun packed break. The Log burner in the cottage is so warm and cosy this time of year and enjoyed every night. They have a good selection of books, board games and DVDs for you all to enjoy.

We climbed snowdon during our stay which is a real achievement and only 1hrs drive to Pen y Pass Car Park. This is £10 for the day and well worth every penny, access to both the Pyg track and the Miners trail which is around a 6hrs around hike.

Barmouth is only a short walk away, this has a good selection of shops and pubs. A must is Bistro Bermo, amazing little restaurant, you need to book ahead.

You will not be disappointed with this choice. We can’t wait to return.

Thank you. Paul and Georgie.

“Beautiful house, stunning gardens and gorgeous views.”

On arriving at Afon Morfa, we could not believe our luck. The house is just beautiful and the location just stunning. Bedrooms are large and very comfortable. Two have en suite bathrooms, the windows are situated in just the right places to look out at the stunning views. Being secluded, we left the curtains open so we could wake to the back drop of trees , mountains and sea. There is a family bathroom situated at one end of the house and another toilet room downstairs. All were large and were in keeping to the house. The living room has a log burner, situated in a very large stone fireplace. The evenings were just lovely sitting, reading, playing games and watching some television, with the log fire, making it wonderfully cosy. There was a sitting room, dining room and a huge kitchen. The conservatory, we used in the morning and breakfast seemed to take twice as long as it should, due to the views. Out side the house there is a swimming pool and the gardens which are terraced are full of mature plants and trees. It really is a feast for the eyes, no matter where you look. I left feeling totally relaxed and wishing we had booked for longer. We will be back.

Simply the perfect retreat! A beautifully situated cottage that leaves you wanting for nothing (except perhaps to stay just a little longer!). Beautiful walks that will satisfy all from those that enjoy a gentle stroll through to the more adventurous begin at the front door. The house has a welcoming and homely feel with wood burner and shelves filled with books and games. The pool area looked great and we're hoping to visit again in the summer so as to take full advantage of the lovely social space it offers. I can't recommend this enough and will certainly be visiting again! Thank you!

“A spacious home from home in a stunningly picturesque setting”

This lovely and very spacious house comfortably fitted in two familes during our stay. In easy reach of Fairbourne with its miniature railway which the kids loved and Barmouth with its huge sandy beach and numerous cafes and bars it is an ideal base. The house has a very homely feel with everything you could possibly need. It is set in a stunning woodland landscape with it's own waterfall providing a very soothing soundtrack as you sip your coffee in the conservatory!

Wow! What an amazing place. We went up with some friend to take advantage of the mountain bike park at Coed-y-Brenin and had an awesome break. The kitchen was a great size for us all to sit down for a feast in the evenings and the Range cooker was big enough to cook for us all.
Not only was the riding fantastic(and abit scary) there was also great off road running tracks.
I thought the house was perfect, with everything you could need and more. Books, maps, games, information about all local sights and attractions and not forgetting the pool, although in February we didn't brave it. Definitely on our next visit in the summer.
In the evening it was really enjoyable to walk over to The Last inn in Barmouth for a warm welcome and a top pint.
We'll be booking again soon.

“A perfect piece of Wales!”

Our family are very fond of Wales and were delighted with our stay at Afon Morfa. This enormous cottage was the perfect place for us to explore the Welsh countryside. It is set in acres of beautiful woodland and even has it's very own waterfall in the garden, not to mention being within walking distance of the beach! The cottage itself is equipped with everything you would need for a family holiday. My personal favourite was the log burner which made the evenings lovely and cosy.
Whilst staying at Afon Morfa we went on many walks, the walk up to the Blue Lagoon starting in Fairbourne and the Torrent walk starting in Brithdir were exceptional. We created so many happy memories here and can't wait to visit again!
