The Quarry House Bed & Breakfast
Reviewed August 4, 2013

on arrival at The Quarry House we were greeted by Michelle,Simon and a wonderful treat of afternoon tea. Though we only stayed two nights we soon felt very comfortable and welcome. Our room had every thing we required, and was exceptionally clean. The food was of a very high standard and well presented.Nothing was too much trouble. we would not hesitate to to recommend it. We would stay again if we get the chance.

We were joined by eight of our friends at The Quarry House for a Sunday Lunch to celebrate our Ruby Wedding. Simon & Michelle provided a warm welcome, a relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food at a reasonable price. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would not hesitate to recommend it. We have enjoyed several meals there before and will certainly be returning again before too long - a great venue and close to home!

The whole Quarry House experience shines. Yes, the rooms are comfortable, well cared for and tastefully decorated and, yes, Quarry House nestles in beautiful countryside within very close proximity to Offa's Dyke. But Quarry House is so much more - from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave Michelle and Simon offer a warm and generous welcome making you feel a very special guest. They will do everything they possibly can to ensure that your stay with them is relaxing and carefree. All you have to do is concentrate on enjoying yourself. And then, there's Michelle's cooking. Now here you are transported to a plateau of sheer indulgence for her food is truly irresistible - packed lunch, breakfast and dinner (served wonderfully in Simon's special style) alike! Value at Quarry House is far greater than the very reasonable cost.

Michelle was brilliant and made us feel so welcome and looked after during our stay. Thank you for everything, particularly the impromptu brunch. It was just what we needed after a long drive from London!

The Quarry House, Newcastle on Clun is situated half-way along Offa's Dyke just 10 minutes downhill from the path I Highly recommend it - the food brilliant, my room had about 60 cookery books in it, and elsewhere around the house. Michelle is a bubbly highly talented cook and welcoming host, can't leave out mentioning Simon Michelle's husband as together they made my stay so enjoyable. The house is charming with beams and open fires. I slept in a twin bedroom which which was very comfortable. The large landing has a settee from which to look on the wonderful Shropshire hills through the large window. Like others before me I shall be returning again (and again).

Awesome place with a friendly couple. Pristine rooms in a beautiful house. All this and amazing food also! Don't even hesitate, this is the place to stay! Especially if you're walking Offas Dyke, cycling south Shropshire or even attending a mountainbike race at Nearby Hopton Woods.

Stayed here as part of our Offa's Dyke walk.
We were warmly welcomed by Michelle along with fresh scones straight out of the oven, cream and jam. Fresh milk, an array of teas, coffee and hot chocolate, soft towels and crisp, cream bedding made our room so comfortable. Free wi fi available too.
We, and the other guests ate a scrumptious evening meal, which included fresh fish, and sticky toffee pudding. Absolutely delicious.
We both chose smoked salmon and creamy scrambled eggs for breakfast, and enjoyed a selection of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt.
Thank you for your hospitality and we'll certainly tell everyone else about you.
