“Idyllic break for family”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Stayed here at beginning of June (2 adults, a 4 year old, and two 6 month old twins), in need of some R&R - and we found it. We had high expectations, based upon the reviews we had read, and they were met. Really impressed by the care and thought that has gone into every aspect of the service, and the personal greeting when you arrive gets the holiday off to a great start. We made full use of the facilities, including the swimming pool and outdoor hot tub. A special mention to for Farmer Malcolm. My daughter was initially nervous at feeding time at the beginning of the week; by the end of the week, thanks to his patience and care, she was first in line to feed the animals. Her confidence has improved so much that yesterday at a farm in London, she was happy to stroke a snake. We're currently thinking about our trip there next year. Thanks again Jacqui and Dewi for a wonderful holiday.

I cannot recommend Clydey Cottages highly enough. We have stayed at their smaller site, Fron Fawr, for the past three years and enjoy it more and more each year. The facilities for those with young children are outstanding and the setting is truly breathtaking. A West Wales paradise!

What a fantastic review, thank you so much. We always think it's "paradise" down here, even when the wind and rain are blowing in sideways ! Hopefully we will be welcoming you back to Fron Fawr again during 2014, with warmest regards, Dewi, Jacqui & The Team @ Clydey.

We (2 adults, our nearly 15 year old son and our 10 year old son) spent a week at Tansy Cottage at the end of July. Clydey is in an idyllic setting and provides accommodation of a very high standard. Everything is provided for you and the personal and welcoming service is spot on.
Our boys (too old for the delights of the animal feeding and soft play) had a fantastic time in the pool and in the games room where they made good use of the pool table, air hockey and table tennis. They also played cricket outside and enjoyed watching even more cricket on Sky Sports in the soft play area! As a family we made good use of the DVD library, board games (LOGO board game had us in stitches) and the food in the freezer !!
Whilst we were there we went to the beach at Penbryn (more cricket !), spotted dolphins and seals from the cliffs at Mwnt, ate at the Beach Cafe at Llangrannog (really yummy), bodyboarded at Whitesands, shopped at St. Davids, and visited Melin Tregwynt Mill and Caws Cenarth cheese.
A lovely trip to Pembrokeshire.

Stayed here at the end of the July with our 8 month old and grandparents. We stayed in the two bedroom Jasmine cottage. We did not want to leave and are currently planning when we can go back. Jacqui and Dewi have planned the whole experience perfectly. Having spoken to others staying at the cottages, I dont think you can find a place better than this. Right from the start everything is organised in your cottage and you dont need to worry about cots, highchairs, monitors, steriliser etc... The cottages are tastefully decorated to a good specification and everything is clean. The swimming pool is lovely and the hot tubs and saunas a nice touch for the adults. There are many things to talk about, like the superking beds with crisp linen and the soft play area, the fantastic view, the peace and quiet but the highlight has to be farmer Malcolm. He really made the experience for the children and even managed to get our 8 month old excited about feeding chickens! Just wonderful. Thank you.

We spent one week at Fron Fawr - 2 adults and one toddler (aged 17 months) - what a fantastic place. Lovely and comfortable accommodation, with relaxing scenery for grown-ups to enjoy. Our little one loved feeding the animals and playing in the soft play room at Clydey. A real gem!

We stayed for a week with our 14 month old and we did not want to leave. Very enjoyable stay, cottage very nice. We had not asked for anything extra and still when we got to the cottage there was a cot, highchair, stair gates and baby bath waiting for us.
We used the babysitting service for two hours one afternoon and it was nice to be able to have a couple of baby free hours and have a relax in the hot tub. The indoor swimmingpool and hot tub is amazing! There is nothing they have not thought of at Clydey. We borrowed some DVDs a few evenings and our daughter absolutely loved the soft play room and the variety of toys on offer. We also borrowed one of the baby carriers one day (it was a nice surprise to find carriers for loan in the larder, especially the ones for bigger babies) and took a walk to the waterfall. Another good thing from the larder was the yummy ready meals (even baby ones), especially the sticky toffee pudding (best we ever tasted!).
Last but definitely not least, the animal feeding rounds. This was the highlight of our day every morning and farmer Malcolm is so amazing with the children. The animal feeding and farmer Malcolm is without a doubt the best thing about Clydey. Our daughters confidence with feeding the animals grew so much over the week. We will absolutely return here in the future and would recommend to anyone, especially with kids, to go. I don't think you will find a more baby/child friendly place anywhere else.

We have just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday at Tansy cottage. The cottage was lovely & spacious with 2 bathrooms, a powerful shower & a gorgeous slipper bath. The stove was so cosy & easy to light in the chilly evenings. At Clydey cottages you can really relax as it so quiet, with stunning views across the countryside. The outdoor hot tub was a real treat taking in those views. The facilities are first class. The indoor pool again had beautiful views & was lovely & warm for the children. The soft play area was also very clean & well equipped. My 3 year old daughter loved feeding the animals & collecting the eggs every morning with Farmer Malcom. She would look out the cottage window every morning, waiting for him to arrive. Then she would charge out of the door & across the grass calling 'Farmer Malcom!' at the top of her voice! He was so brilliant with all the children. The highlight of the week had to be the baby lamb being born. We were very sad to leave, and will definitely be returning.
