“The perfect escape for your next holiday to Byron and beyond.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2012

We stayed at the Four Winds for my 30th birthday - and it was the perfect getaway. To start with, the location is excellent. I've added some pictures of the view from our villa - villa #2. It's also well away from the hustle and bustle of Byron town centre - and yet it's only about a 5 minute drive. The surrounding towns are all easily accessible by main roads and highways. If you want a place to relax and enjoy this part of the world for what it truly is - I do highly recommend you give here a try. I remember getting so excited looking for it when we were driving around Byron - and trust me I was even more so when we found it's exact location! The views are exactly as advertised and are just simply stunning. Day and night, there was always something new and beautiful to appreciate.
On to the villa itself. It is huge - so much space for 2 people but it's open plan to an extent so it doesn't feel like you're miles away from each other. Very well designed. All of the rooms are gorgeous. Every thing is done to such a high specification - and with much care and attention. The bed is very big and very comfy - and plenty of extra pillows of course should you need them. The private outdoor shower and courtyard was so pretty - it was like having a little bit of forest in your bathroom. The kitchen is gorgeous. The marble and wood throughout is exquisite. The linen provided is wonderful - I could go on forever. What I loved especially is the thoughtful little details - as people have mentioned there is sparkling wine provided on arrival - but there's also lots of other little extras which I won't mention here - I'll keep them as a surprise for you :) By the way - the sparkling we had - we loved it so much we ended up buying a case of it!
Next onto the service. Jane is the property manager and she is fabulous. From the moment we booked, she was attentive and nothing was too hard. She helped us not only with directions to the Four Winds, but also with great ideas as to where we could stop on our way from the airport. Our hosts Rick and Helen were there to greet us when we did arrive, and were very friendly and helpful with their recommendations of where to eat and what to do. The top of this list, by the way, is the restaurant called Harvest in nearby Newrybar. We ended up going there every morning for a coffee! After that, we rarely saw them - they were available at all times if we did need them, but gave us the privacy you of course want when you're on holidays! It was a brilliant balance. You can also arrange (attention here boys!) a massage in-house - I had an hour and a half as a birthday treat and it was fabulous. I would strongly recommend, if the weather is good, to have yours outside if the weather is good - it definitely added to the experience.
To summarise, the views are spectacular, the service amazing and the value is well worth what you pay. Yes, it's not the cheapest accommodation you will find - but trust me it is worth every single cent of your money. If you want a relaxing, charming, natural and luxurious getaway - Four Winds Villas really is your perfect escape. Thank you to Jane, Rick, Helen and all of the team at Four Winds Villas for making our holiday truly spectacular. We hope to see you again soon.

Room Tip: 1) Wifi is now included - you don't need to bring your own. 2) Make sure your massage is preb...

My boyfriend chose four winds as a surprise for a post birthday treat. We had villa 2 which was perfect. The views of the surrounding hills are stunning and panoramic from the lounge. The villa was huge for 2 people, with bedroom, lounge, dining area and kitchen as well as bath and indoor and outdoor shower in a private courtyard. Theres also an outdoor area with bbq and a pool area but torrential rain meant we didnt get the chance to enjoy. Everything has been thought of, champagne in the fridge with chilled glasses on arrival, beautiful flowers scattered throughout the house and lots of candles to add to the romance. Plenty of soft fluffy towels too. The location is remote on the top of a hill but you can easily pop to nearby places for food/shops e.g Harvest at Newrybar for breakfast and Bangalow for shops/supermarket. Byron is about a 20 minutes drive. The perfect getaway!

Wonderful weekend, beautiful scenery. The only negatives were the small things that were missing, the booking was for two couples, lovely bottle of champagne chilled well but only three glasses available. Not enough hanging space in the bathroom, no where to put away non hanging clues etc? I do have to say hat there were the best pillows I have ever opt on

We booked in as two couples and were immediately overcome with the beautiful accommodation, the view and close proximity to Bangelow and Byron Bay.
But, the attention to detail was a little lacking. We were very kindly given a bottle of very nice champagne - but only three wine flutes. The upstairs bedroom had no ensuite ( unusal in these times) very sparce and only hanging space with no draws or mirror. The downstairs bathroom was huge! and could have accommodated a separate toilet facility or ensuite into the downstairs bedroom. There was not enough towel rails or hooks for four people in the bathroom, no tissues or extra toilet paper.
The decor was lovely and a view to die for! Very quiet, beautiful grounds and pool and totally relaxing.

I have just logged on to share my wonderful get-away experience at Four Winds. I couldn't believe the previous reviewer who did not have a positive experience. This place is just heaven for the experienced world traveller who wants to leave behind the cities, the skyscrapers, the boring hotels and the noise and pollution to experience something unique. The villas are situated in the midst of beautiful countryside high in the hills near Byron Bay with 360 degree views of ocean, sky and rolling green hills. At night the stars and moon put on a spectacular display over the ocean.

The beds are king size and luxurious and there is an abundant supply of fresh linen and towels. We felt totally private and enjoyed soaking in the large spa bath looking out to the tropical courtyard garden. Our hosts were there if we needed them, however they didn't intrude on our space. They were most helpful in recommending a couple of good local restaurants. On arrival we enjoyed a welcoming complimentary bottle of champagne which was chilled ready for us. The rooms looked clean and smelled fresh with tasteful solid antique furniture and marble floors.

I am looking forward to going back to stay again in the summer to swim in the beautiful pool with the fountain gushing over the rocks. (Kids would love this) At this time of the year we bushwalked, explored the markets and enjoyed eating out in the local restaurants which are only a few minutes drive away.

Room Tip: There are two villas. We stayed in the one bedder, however if we decide to come again with our chil...

If you don't need to be near the beach or the town, either the 1-bed or 2-bed villa is a very nice option indeed if you can score it at reasonable rates. Large, tasteful, and very quiet units, self-cooking and catering, pool & spa, with great views, easy drive back in to Byron or Bangalow. Breakfast and wi-fi not included, so we brought our own 3G, and stocked up at Ballina's Aldi before we left the airport precinct.
