“Very nice, family friendly cottage.”
Reviewed March 5, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Set in the heart of the Kent country side this period cottage offers very comfortable accommodation for 6 to 8 people. The amenities are excellent; a well-equipped kitchen with a large fridge, washing machine and freezer, a lovely conservatory with comfortable chairs and good Wi-Fi (v. important for me ). The rooms are warm and nicely decorated.

It is surrounded by nature so the views all around are beautiful. At the same time, it is well within a couple of hours driving distance to locations in Kent, Sussex and London.

The hosts are very nice and very helpful.

It was such a pleasurable stay, we can’t wait to come back.

Thank you for your very kind review, we are very glad you all enjoyed your stay in Hop Cottage, the cottages do enjoy a fabulous position in the Kent Downs AONB but with great access to Kent's attractions and for day trips to London.

We and our team work hard to keep the properties to a high standard, this spring will see our new games room for the table tennis and the hot tub for guests going in by the lake. We look forward to welcoming you all back, perhaps when the weather is warmer to enjoy the new extra facilities

“Great base for our family weekend”
Reviewed December 4, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We really enjoyed our weekend at Hop Cottage, lovely and warm and plenty of space for all the family (5 adults, 3 young children). Nigel and Wendy were very helpful and on the end of the phone when we had a query. Despite being off the beaten track it was easy to find with their instructions. The only minor downside was that the showers were a bit weedy.

“Perfect place to stay near my family.”
Reviewed November 22, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I booked this accommodation for a Family of 7. It was exactly as described and suited our every need. Also a great location close to all my family. Nigel and Wendy were extremely welcoming and we look forward to staying there again in 2018.

“Idyllic”
Reviewed July 21, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This place was quirky, and so private and away from everything. We wanted accommodation where the whole family could be together for a few nights, and we rented both Hop and Oak cottages. So there we were – ages 6 months to 94 and it was wonderful. We only travelled half an hour to get there but it didn’t matter – we were lucky with the weather, swam in the lake and barbecued and played games in the garden. The family of moorhens on the lake were beautiful and we had daily visits to the garden from a hen and cockerel! The horses also came up to be petted over the garden fence. The two cottages had everything we needed and apart from one drive out to go and look at the animals and have a cream tea at Badgers Hill Farm, we stayed put and relaxed, or had little strolls round the estate. We had a Tesco delivery on the evening we arrived, and the newsagents and the Barn Shop were within walking distance for any bits we had forgotten. Sadly Wendy and Nigel were away on their holiday while we were there (although we had met them when we looked at the cottages prior to booking) , so we couldn't thank them personally, but Tina and Ian were on hand and answered queries in their absence.

“Clean, tidy and practical accomodation”
Reviewed April 28, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Nigel was very helpful from the start, and we had a very comfortable stay.

The accommodation was perfect for all our needs, and reasonably priced. The setting was lovely and it was a shame we did not have time to explore it more thoroughly

We loved our short stay at Hop Cottage. It was much larger than I anticipated which was great for a party of 8.

The surrounding countryside is lovely and peaceful.

Nigel & Wendy were very accommodating as we arrived earlier than anticipated.

Would definitely recommend staying at Hop Cottage and you should visit Whitstable Oyster Co. restaurant where I had the best native oysters I've ever tasted- absolutely delicious food and wine!
