This hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, the scenery is by far its best feature. An old hotel, there is a lovely cosy atmosphere in the bar and reception room with open fire. We had 3 meals in the restaurant - The food was ok, the worst was the black pudding starter, which was not much more than a slice of black pudding. The restaurant itself though is very comfortable with beautiful views. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. They offer seaweed baths, which are only €20 and well worth it as a new experience.
We did have an unfortunate episode on our second night, when we had a leak in ceiling. The manager dealt with the whole affair badly - woke our 14 month old baby at 5am and offered nothing by way of compensation, not even a drink at the bar when we ran into him the following night. That was disappointing, but overall this hotel offers very good value for a quiet weekend away.More
