“Had a great time - definitely recommend!”
Reviewed June 21, 2009

Spent 2 nights there with my fiancee & had a great time. We got there at around 10pm & really friendly guy Doug brought us to our room...lovely room with seperate living room & balcony & huge bed in bedroom. I disagree with previous guest comment about the room lacking TV - we def didnt miss TV as we're in the middle of Connemara & it's in keeping with the relaxed atmosphere of the whole place. We did have a phone in our room. Had a few drinks in the bar that night & yes it's small but lovely relaxed atmosphere & friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely next morn - good choice of buffet style continental & full irish. We had booked in for rock climbing & high rope climbing which was brilliant - very nice Scottish instructor who was good craic & good at putting nerves at ease. Went for lunch after - buffet style lunch €12 for all you like - soup, different types of salads & breads & cheeses, cold meats, fish & fruits. We then did the surfing which was brilliant - would recommend. This was a short bus trip to Clew Bay - lovely beach & great waves. Our South African instructor was excellent too. Had dinner that night in Restaurant & although a bit pricey was greast choice a la carte menu, good wines & food very well presented & decent portions. Overall great short trip - Beautiful building, spotlessly clean, relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff, great food & the Spa looks great but didnt go this time (ran out of money for this unfortunately). The Adventure centre is brilliant - great choice & great staff. Great for outdoorsy couples & families. We will def go back sometime. It is a bit pricey but I think worth it for all they have to offer.

This hotel's location is absolutely beautiful - extremely remote with mountains and streams & lakes around it. First impressions, we knew we were in the middle of nowhere as phone coverage is almost non-existant here. Our room wasn't ready so we asked where to go to get a bite to eat and were told upstairs, but when we went to the bar area (I stretch to call it that, as it was the bar is quite small) we were told they weren't serving. A man, who turned out to be the general manager, seemed to be a little put out by this-but we were in the middle of nowhere and not about to return to Leenane for a sandwich. He asked what we wanted without offering a menu. We ended up with sandwiches and a couple of beers but it was a weird start to our stay. Rooms were sparse (ie, no tv, phone, etc.) as is the rest of the hotel where everything is very neutral - cream paints, wood floors and decor, lots of windows with beautiful views. If you are looking for a trip to get a way from it all, this is your place. If you're looking to detox, this is your place. We were getting away from the kiddies but learned that we like and need life's luxuries - ie, hotels that serve meals (or at least small bar food menus) throughout the daytime hours, bars that look like bars, a tv in the room and phone coverage.
We did have seaweed baths and massages at the spa and enjoyed them. The spa is very relaxing.
Restaurant was excellent but pricey. Breakfasts were great. View from dining rooms is stunning--mountain views.
Note, beach is more than a stone's throw away but if you do go you won't regret it - an absolutely beautiful, long, sandy beach!

Went to Delphi Mountain Resort and Spa recently for a hen weekend. What a great idea for a way to spend a hen weekend! (All up and coming brides take note!) Surrounded by fantastic mountain views, luxurious bedroom suites, amazing food in the restaurant and really helpful friendly staff. Didn't get a chance to try out the Spa as spent a few hours kayyaking instead (great instructors who made it their business to make sure everyone got dunked!) Great breakfast again next morning which set us up for a long walk in the Connemara mountains that day. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough, either for an adventurous weekend, a romantic break or as an alternative option for a hen or stag weekend! Will definitely be back! Next time will try out the Spa! Thanks to all for a fab weekend!

Spent last weekend in Delphi with some friends and had an absolutely wonderful experience - the service, the food, the accommodation; all completely flawless.
The location – simply magical.
We stayed in one of the suites which was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. It also had a great bathroom with a sunken bath and a double shower with double shower head ... brilliant. The views of the surrounding countryside from the room were simply breathtaking.
From an activity perspective, we decided to go the more active route for a change and opted for Kayaking. I had my reservations initially, as my preference would always be the spa, however I was proven wrong and had such fun! Like everything in my weekend, this was well organized and very professionally run –
From a dining perspective, the dinner was amazing – way exceeded my expectations – worth the visit for that alone!
Will I return, absolutely!

A group of us from work stayed in Delphi for a weekend away and we throughly enjoyed the activities on offer particularly the kayaking and tight rope walking. The instructors were brilliant learnt all our names straight away and gave us great encouragement. The spa was also fantastic the thermal suite a real delight after a long days activities to soothe the muscles.
The only negative from Delphi was the food and drink. I ordered the steak from the bar on the first evening. There was no salad and a handful of chips. All of us polished off our plates it was delicious but still felt hungry. The service was also slow. One of the lads finished a second main course plus a dessert which i wish i had done as well! The buffet lunch was great the next day though. The drink however was terrible value €7.80 for a peach schnapps (€5) and 7UP (€2.80) and €5 for a pint of Guinness - Dublin prices in the middle of nowhere was very offputting for a seission in the bar. So if your going to delphi in a group bring your own drink and drink in your rooms! There is no tellys or mobile coverage either so bring cards but worth going for a 2 night break with a difference!

My husband & i just spent three days in one of the most beautiful spots in ireland, it was great to have no tv, no mobile phone reception, just surrounded by mountains & incredible views. It offers something for everybody - adventure, spa treatments & fab walks! The staff were really pleasant & the food was great. Can't wait to go back!

The facilities here are good. They provide a good range of equipment (e.g. mountain bikes/kayaks/surf board etc) fro the activities. The stand out memory however was the general staff attitude and approach. Very professional, not that we were expecting the instructors not to be, but the level of professionalism and passion of the activities team was really great to see, they spent loads of time coaching and coaxing our smallest 2 in the kayaking session. The fod was not al all what we expected. Very high quality, restaurant is nearly worth the visit itself. The chef cae out and spoke to us after dinner in a very sincere and genuine waywhich we all appreciated. I enjoyed the spa, unlike some of the "spa factories" around the place it is quite different here. Unhurried, relaxed, and superb massage. Full marks to the boss of the spa (did not catch name) she has really hit the sweet spot here. One area they could improve on is the provision of a decent set of walking guides and maps. We did 2 different hill walks around the resort and would have found a detailed map very beneficial. We gave this feedback to Rory on leaving, and he assured us that it is "in train". Well seing as we rebooked for a weekend in August we will be checking up on his promise. Well done Delphi, we were very impressed.
