We took a 3 hour kayaking tour. Our guide, Bruce, was from New Zealand, but was very knowledgeable concerning the flora and fauna of the Killary Fjord. We saw a nest of newborn Seagulls. We also saw Oystercatchers, birds we were not familiar with. There is quite a mussel farming operation in the fjord. Bruce described the process from eggs to harvest regarding the mussels. We were on a cycling tour and the weather had been quite warm. Paddling the kayaks on the fjord was a pleasant cool change from our cycling
