We recently celebrated a special event with a family weekend in Arnold's hotel. From the outset, we received a warm welcome; the staff could not have been more helpful. We dined in their "Seascapes" restaurant, and were really pleased with the meal and service. Our spacious rooms overlooked Sheephaven Bay and Horn Head-a truly spectacular setting.A real home-from-home!

Having dined in Arnolds over many years, we were delighted when the opportunity arose to spend two nights at the beginning of November. We stayed in room 4, which is at the front of the hotel with fabulous views of Horn Head and Sheephaven Bay. On arrival, we were greeted by Laura ( a real gem) and made to feel welcome. All Arnolds staff are engaging, without being nosey, and nothing is ever too much bother. It's lovely to sit at the open fire in reception and just relax. We had our 3 young children with us and they were made to feel welcome. Food, as usual was of a very good standard...we dined in both the Bistro and Seascapes Restaurant. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of cooked options all made fresh to order. If you're looking for a well-run family hotel in a fantastic location in Donegal, then Arnolds is the place for you.

Room Tip: It's worth asking for a room at the front as the view is superb.

This family run hotel has been a feature in our lives for a long time which on its own says a lot for what we think of the place.
The staff are always great and the atmosphere in the place is home from home, you just relax. The food is unsophisticated but the more enjoyable for that, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
The old year's night into the new year gala dinner was brilliant and the criac great as ever.
Great place, lovely part of the world, forget pretension, just go and enjoy the place!

Room Tip: Just ask for what you prefer, sea view, quiet room, whatever. It's an older, family run building...

Arnolds was very easy to find, right on N56 the only road going right through town. Hotel lobby had the cutest red tartan patterned carpeting, deep red velvet couches, giving it a bit of a saloon like ambience. Had a room upstairs (#39 on second floor, easy reach from the back parking lot), facing front overlooking scenic Sheephaven Bay). Room not very big, with two quite comfortable armchairs, solid wooden dresser and wardrobe. Bathroom very spacious, with large frosted glass windows, shower just a curtained off section on one side with a drain in the floor. Water pressure ok although the stream was a bit thin. Dinner in the hotel’s pub was average although fairly adequate. So was breakfast, not one of the more interesting ones we’d had, served in another dining room (hotel has two restaurants). In any case, it did not exceed expectations but was a perfectly fine place to stay (I would give the accommodations a 4 but only a 3 for the breakfast). The town was quite pretty and the highlight of the area - Horn Head loop was absolutely worth the trip.

I recently completed a cycle around the coastline of Ireland for over 20 days and a 'lot' of miles. Can honestly say that of all the coastline hotels and places I stayed in, I enjoyed this the most. The interior design of this family run hotel is so welcoming! lovely warm tartan carpet with a roaring fire thats real (no gas)and is lit from morning til night. The staff without exception were friendly and warm. Its a family run hotel and as such just has that welcoming feel you dont get in many places.
My room was clean and comfortable but the characters I met there were worth it! The bar served nice food and I ended up in pub quiz on my first night but oops ended up in a team who came joint last!
Weather was awful on the second day and the lady at reception spent time outlining all the walks I could do around the area when it finally cleared up. I chose the Horn Head walk and will never forget the views. I wouldnt have known if she hadnt given me the time. Dont miss out on this hotel. Prices reasonable, lovely staff and great memories. This was the only place I stayed in for 2 nights!.

Lovely old hotel, a drizzly afternoon, we sat by the fire & ate crab claws & did the Soduku. Not much to see in Dunfanaghy, but a lovely place to stay. We visited Patsy Dan's pub, and walked up around the , rather bleak, headland. Must have ....kippers for breakfast !!

The hotel is on the Sheephavens Bay and 5 minutes from Horn Head. The beach walks are wonderful and the views from Horn Head are spectacular!! Staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms have great views of the bay. Food and music were great! Will definitely return.

Room Tip: Bay-window rooms with view of the bay large and comfortable
