The cove restaurant is set in a beautiful part of Ireland, with stunning views and a wonderful wine list. It's easy to get comfortable and stay for hours. The menu is well thought out and very tasty. The host Peter is charming and very welcoming. We had an amazing dinner here and if we are ever in this part of the world again we will be sure to call in.

We have a holiday home in Dunfanaghy and always reserve at least one night for a visit to The Cove. The experience starts with a relaxing drink-with-a-view in the upstairs bar overlooking Portnablagh pier and harbour. The owner Peter certainly knows his food and the lamb and steaks are some of the best you will find anywhere! The staff are attentive and friendly without being obsequious and Peter always finds the time for a brief chat with diners, no matter how busy they are. In some restaurants there is the impression that they want to rush you out the door for the next sitting, but a meal at The Cove is always unhurried and relaxing. All in all a top spot.

The food was super. We were a party of 4 and had a range of fresh fish and beef and lamb dishes. All of us were vey satisfied with our choices. They were all cooked well and to specifications. Staff were helpful and friendly. Lovely bar on the top floor with great views over the port. Bookings recommended and only open at weekends!

Booked for Saturday 5 April. Steak lovers seventh heaven! Fillet and Sirloin both cooked to order perfectly. Great ambience and a good buzz for this quieter part of the year. Great meal served by lovely staff in cool surroundings We are regular visitors and have always enjoyed the experience of this friendly restaurant.

Lovely surroundings and food. The service definitely slowed down once we were seated in the restaurant - I suspect they were short-staffed - but I will be back.
