Hello there and thank you for your lovely review I am delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable trip out of the city and that you had time to take in some of the parklands around the Waterfall! Its a nice distraction from city life:)

This waterfall is a must see if you are in the area. It is tall and there is a good amount of water that flows from it. You can get close to it to take some great pictures. There is a snack shop at the first parking lot that sells coffee and hot chocolate. There is another parking lot that is closer to the waterfall if you keep driving. Enjoy!

This was one of my favorite site on our trip. Just simply beautiful. I was amazed at how big it actually was. This is a site to see...don't miss it.

Make sure you take a picnic with you. Its a great place for walks and waterfall is amazing. Kids will love the run around. Most families are there with picnics and portable barbeques. Make sure to bring some food because there is no place near to buy anything.
Hello from Powerscourt and thank you for your lovely review. It is a great place to have a family picnic or bbq and the vast open spaces are terrific for the kiddies to have a run around. The short walks are a nice addition after lunch too!

In my opinion it is ridiculous that people take advantage of natural beauty spots to make profit. I mean, the waterfall was there, nobody has built it, it is just nature. Don't charge for it!!! Governments should protect the place of being destructed by men, but this does not mean charging for people to getting there. It is not about the price, it is about paying for something that everyone should have the right to see for free.
That being said, the Powerscourt Waterfall is truly beautiful, and I loved to be there. But it is not a super-fantastic-amazing waterfall. If you are used to see fantastic waterfalls in other places, maybe it is not worth to rent a car, going there, plus paying a 10 euros pp fee just to get close to it.
Good afternoon from Powerscourt and thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us. I can appreciate your comments regarding the charge to use the facilities and see the Waterfall but we are a privately owned estate and do not receive any funding to help maintain the parklands and facilities, we therefore need to charge a fee. The charge per adult is €5.50 and we recently introduced the family ticket for €16.00! The Waterfall is the highest in Ireland and it is a great place to spend the day with family and friends especially if the weather is good, a picnic is a must:)
