“Good food and worth waiting for.”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

The ‘Terrace Cafe at Powerscourt’ present a fine selection of light meals and snaks for those visiting Powerscourt.
Be warned that the cafe can get very busy in the summer months and was still busy when we visited in October but the wait was only five minutes or so and the food worth waiting for. After sales service is maybe an odd term to use in this case but if relevant as waiters are on hand to attend to your needs as required, which in such an establishment is quite rare these days.
The food itself is pretty good but one point to make is that iif you require a hot dish it will probably be heated first in a microwave oven and maybe not to everyone’s taste. This does not detract from the fact that it is good food and of a high quality, tasting very fresh and wholesome. There is a certain ambiance about the cafe which visitors will find pleasing and an outdoor eating are is provided overlooking the magnificent grounds.
To sum up, the Terrace Cafe at Powerscourt is worth including in your visit there but is very popular with visitors from around the globe, so prepare to wait that little bit longer to be served. I adopts the laid back Irish attitude to the full but take that on board and you will be fine.

“Beef and Guinness Pie”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

Not much more to say. This dish was the best meal in Ireland. Big slices of carrots and sweet marinated Irish beef in a thick brown sauce add the flaky crust and it was to die for! Everyone with me ordered different things and each found their meal to be excellent. I wish I could taste the pie right now!

“Great food!”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

Although this is a "cafeteria" style cafe, you will be surprised at the quality of the food. Some of the best food that we had in Ireland!! Highly recommend having lunch here if you are visiting Powerscourt.
