“Lovely holiday home with beautiful scenery nearby”
Reviewed March 31, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

This peaceful and very well-equipped property gave us everything we needed for a super holiday. The beds were extremely comfy, the kitchen well-appointed and we loved being by the fire in the evenings. We would have enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden but it was too cold! The village, only a short walk away, has many interesting shops, a small gallery and The Falls Hotel by the river which serves tasty, hearty lunches. We walked from the cottage to the stunning beach at Lahinch,a favourite spot for surfers. A visit to the Cliffs of Moher left us gasping in awe at the wildness of the sea. Amongst other things we enjoyed a great shopping trip to the lovely town of Ennis,a wild walk on The Burren and wonderful pub music in Milltown Malbay.

“The house was charming, modern and comfortable.”
Reviewed February 28, 2014 for a stay in June 2013

The house had all the facilities. Everything worked well and it was very comfortable. We were able to enjoy the beauty and character of Ennistymon and surrounding area and return after our explorations to relax in our luxurious "home"!

“Fresh bright comfortable living space with relaxing outdoor garden”
Reviewed June 12, 2013 for a stay in August 2012

Had lovely week in this pleasant market town. Good restaurants, pubs, art galleries and large hotel with evening entertainment; traditional music in pubs.

Dramatic coastline within easy reach including the spectacular cliffs of moher. Good swimming in nearby lahinch.

“Wicked holiday in beatiful house”
Reviewed May 1, 2013 for a stay in July 2012

We had a great time and enjoying staying in this lovely bright spacious house. Beds comfy and all amenities available. Boys played football with a few of the locals in the evenings and loved the great surfing beach at Lahinch.

“Lovely holiday at Riverview guest house, Ennistymon and surrounding area”
Reviewed April 24, 2013 for a stay in June 2012

Riverview is a great, comfortable base with all the modern cons to explore the fascinating and attractive County Clare from. The house was large, quiet and nice. Importantly as we were visiting County Clare with a young child it was safe and had a garden in which our daughter could play in. It was easily reached from Shannon Airport and we found it easily without a Satnav.

The picturesque Lahinch town and large sandy beach is just a short drive away for sand and surf fun; we often popped down a couple of times a day, once in the day and once around Sunset. The Cliffs of Moher both sound and look like something from a Tolkein book and are also a short drive away, the rugged Burren is just a bit further on but still easily and quickly reached and a must see.

County Clare has many other attractions such as caves and castles, but despite its many attractions it's also worth exploring across the county; one of our best days was getting the ferry from Doolin in County Clare across to the Aran Islands; which Father Ted fans will recognise from the opening credits. Once over on Inis Oirr / Inisheer, on what was a glorious sunny and summery day, we hired a couple of bikes and rode round this small island, which has a population of under 300, visiting shipwrecks, ruins of a small castle and church, a rugged coastline and sandy beaches and watching seals before stopping for a well earned Guinness. There are a few hills so if you are not feeling energetic you may be better off doing one of the horse and cart trip. The trip back to Doolin can take you via the foot of the Cliffs of Moher and it's well worth you making sure you get on a ferry that takes you back on this short detour.

Ennistymon itself is a nice, small Irish town with shops, more Irish pubs than you could possibly hope to visit and a wild river flowing through the middle (which you can also see from the house). After a day of sightseeing it was great to take the short stroll to the high street and sitting down with a Guinness while watching the river flow or listening to a band in one of the pubs, before going back to chill at Riverview.
