“Great Athmosphere”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

We had a two night stay in the Falls Hotel and found it very busy with weddings and Family functions. It seems to be really popular locally which gives it a lovely feeling. Room 317 was just right for us and the Leisure Centre was spotless and the 20m pool was a pleasure to swim in as the pool was pretty empty for both a Friday and Saturday morning. Breakfast was really nice and staff very professional and friendly. Music in the Bar was a a bit "Nursing Home" but people seemed to enjoy it. Overall the Falls Hotel is a great base to tour Clare and a pleasant place to stay. River walk is lovely and full of wildlife. Ennistymon is a bit neglected and depressing. The Town has so much potential but with not so much as a hanging basket or flower pot it looks just "Ordinary" but okay to pass through.

Dear Trip Advisor Member,
Thanks for taking the time to post this lovely review. I feel you hit the nail on the head by labelling us as a great base venue for exploring county Clare. We really are right in the middle of the county's best known and most beautiful landmarks. I respect your issues about Ennistymon but there is now an on-going campaign to improve how the town in general looks. This will be really worth the effort as it is such a lovely small real Irish town.
Thank you also for your admiration for our staff, our food and our facilities. Hope to see you back again in the not so distant future.

Kind regards,

Dear Trip Advisor Member,
What a wonderfully pleasing opening line! We can't get better than "this is a gem." Thank you for posting this short but very effective review. One of your primary highlights certainly being the views of the River Inagh both from our bedrooms and our Cascades restaurant in particular.
The fact you slept well is always a key factor on any trip away so it's great to see our quiet scenic location aided that process.
I hope a return visit to the Falls Hotel & Spa is being planned as we speak.

I recently stayed with a group of friends celebrating a hen weekend. We had two self catering apartments which were spacious and well-kitted out. The kitchen facilities were brilliant - in my experience sometimes the term "self catering" is thrown around a lot (only including a little hob and microwave) but this kitchen had all you could need. We had a home cooked dinner in the apartment one night and also a large breakfast. The ensuite bedrooms were lovely and the showers had great pressure. Due to the stormy weather we didn't get to use the hot tub and facilities but I will definitely we trying these out on my next visit. The Hotel is few minutes walk from Ennistymon village and a short drive from Lahinch. The staff were friendly and obliging.

Dear Trip Advisor Member,
I think you have just described a perfect family holiday! You always have to consider a hotel that offers something that both the parents and kids can enjoy together. The package you chose including kayaking on the river was the ultimate choice. Not too many hotels can claim to have a river and waterfall on the grounds of their own property. I have to say Alan who runs the class is an added advantage.
I hope this will become an annual summer holiday to Ennistymon.

Today we held a family gathering to celebrate our sons Christening. The staff and surroundings in the Falls were second to none. We had opted for a fixed menu for our group, and it was just exceptional. The service was brilliant, the food was just exquisite. The management were there to check up on things, but in just the right way. We were under no time pressures, and enjoyed one of the most relaxing family gatherings in fine surrounds, with nothing but the best of food. We left with an even better impression of the Falls Hotel than when we arrived. Well done to all he team there, thank you!

Room Tip: The Restaurant is just brilliant, with stunning views over the river Inagh.

We stayed one night in this 'hotel' and don't honestly know how it is still in business in this day and age.
The rooms are very out dated, with an overpowering smell of very old carpet and dampness. I can't understand how they justify the prices they charge. I was so disappointed as I was expecting a nice night away after checking out the pics on the website.
The 1st room we were given was so bad I almost started to cry, there was nothing but a wall outside the very small window then a step down into the dark alcove to the bed, it was tiny, dark and no better than some of the $5 a night hostels I've stayed in whilst traveling Asia, at least you expect that standard at that price range.
When we complained we were moved, the staff member didn't bat an eyelid, obviously used to people wanting to be moved from that aweful room.
The next one wasn't much better once we found it through a maze of corridors and nooks and crannies. I shudder to think how anyone would find there way out in a fire!
I've only ever used this site to share places we really enjoyed but feel so let down and dumbfounded by the existance of this place selling itself in a price range far above what it should be I had to worn people. People work hard these days and deserve to get value for there money.

Dear Trip Advisor Members,
Thank you for posting this review and your feedback is greatly appreciated however I am very disappointed to see that you did not enjoy your stay at the Falls. We try our utmost to ensure people get value for money when they visit us and we are often complimented for the very budget friendly offers we sell.
In relation to our bedrooms I was happy to see that we could offer you an alternative room but unfortunately this also did not meet your requirements. Our website accurately convey our bedrooms but as with every hotel some rooms are slightly nicer. We are inundated with requests for example with room overlooking our waterfall and the river Inagh but unfortunately not every room can have a view.
I hope you reconsider your opinion of our hotel and give us another chance to prove we are a lot more than a hostel.

Kind regards,
Dermot Hogan

Just returned from a two night stay at the Falls Hotel and Spa. I would highly recommend. Staff did an excellent job of accommodating our large group which including 50 teenagers! The food was excellent as well. And the view of the falls and short walk to the pub was a plus. The only complaint was weak Wifi - but I'm sure that is an easy fix. The staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks for adding to our memorable time in Ireland.
