A group of 26 of us checked into the Falls Hotel for a Hen weekend in Co.Clare. The booking was so well organised. It was so easy to check in to the hotel as the rooms had been allocated in advance and we were all on the same corridor which was great :)... We had food in the bar on the Friday night, we were a little bit late ordering as the kitchen closes at 9 but it was no problem and the staff were lovely. On the Saturday night we had some bubbly for the room, but we needed a corkscrew one of the bar staff carried a tray of glasses to the room and opened the bottles for us. We had our own private dining room for dinner on the Saturday night which the hotel staff let us decorate that morning. The staff who served us were great. I didn't make it to the pool or hot tub but the girls that did said it was fab :). The Hotel really made the weekend, we couldn't have asked for better service. We all had a great weekend.

Dear TripAdvisor Member,
The Falls Hotel and Spa pride ourselves in meeting all our customers' needs and based on your review I really feel we managed to do just that. Extending our bar food hours and bringing you the champagne glasses are small little touches but they make all the difference. Some places may have caused a fuss but that's not our style and we thrive to make our guest's stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. It's the same with the dining room we were more than happy to oblige. I am so happy to hear you all had such a great weekend and I wish the bride to be all the best in the future. For the other 25 of ye don't forget us in the future when you're picking a destination for your own hen or maybe even your wedding!!!

Kind regards,

We stayed here for 3 nights over the june bank holiday. We booked it as a Supervalue getaway break so for 198 euro incl breakfast and 1 evening meal we thought it was good value. On arrival at the hotel the grounds and hotel itself was mobbed with people. We were quite shocked as we had not been informed by the hotel in their previous correspondence that we would be arriving on the "busiest day of the year" (as descirbed by a member of staff there) The bar food that evening was poor "burgers & Chips" stone cold when served to us , so bad that i had to send it back. The bedroom was clean but shabby. Cigarette burns on one of the sheets. No handle on the outside of the bathroom door, which meant i had to keep my toddlers travel cot pulled across the door at all times as she kept getting into the toilet. The receptionist wasnt very friendly just talked over my shoulder. Was woken at 2 o clock in the morning by people roaring down the hall and someone vomiting in the hallway, the smell was still there the following afternoon. There was however one member of staff who was very helpful a lady with glasses ( never got her name) when our toddler acted up during dinner on our second night she organised us to have our deserts in our room. She was chatty , friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good. Main dinner in the restaurant was only ok and second time around the bar food was mediocre. The main lobby is nice, the spa was very relaxing and the pool is lovely also.

Room Tip: I heard that there are some rooms which have been refurbished, maybe ask for one of those

Dear Trip Advisor Member,
I would like to thank you for taking the time to post this feedback. The happiness of our guests is our primary concern so I would like to discuss some of the issues you have raised.
Firstly I appreciate your praise for our lobby area, our River Spa and our Aqua and Leisure Club.
You also were impressed with our staff and I'm delighted to hear that she had an efficient solution to help you out and get your desserts sent to your room.
Your major concern probably is in relation to the annual Agricultural show which is held on the hotel's grounds. Usually all customers are told of this event when they are making their original booking and in fact it often is a further incentive to visit us when it's on as it brings a carnival like atmosphere to the hotel which is full of activities and events on the day.
We have no record of a broken bathroom door and there is also no record of reception being asked to address this problem if it existed.
The noise at night is unfortunate but was probably from a wedding that was taking place during your stay. We keep all wedding guests on the same corridor and separated from other guests to prevent any noise pollution so it makes no sense how this could happen.
I really hope the issues that affected your stay will not prevent you from returning in the future. If you have any other queries feel free to get in touch with me at sales@fallshotel.ie.

Kind regards,
Dermot Hogan

Stayed at The Falls last weekend with husband and 2 kids, 3 and 6. We'd a great break and would highly recommend. We'd never heard of the place before and booked at fairly short notice. It was to celebrate our anniversary and I was anxious we would be let down. Place far exceeded expectations. A great family friendly hotel without the signs of usual kiddie wear and tear and toooo many playmates!! Lovely grounds, fabulous walks in and around the hotel ground (not really emphasised so go look). Beautiful view of the waterfall alongside hotel and donkeys grazing out front. As advised on TripAdviser, we emailed in advance and requested a refurbished river view room which we got. A spacious family room, nice decor, bathroom bit dated but everything spotless and working perfectly. A great bar/restaurant area (we ate almost every meal on site) but they don't have extensive lunch menu, more emphasis on carvery tho toasted sandwiches were available (I'm sure they cud have rustled up something more exciting and shud have panini/snack menu). Food in bar was v good - theres also a Thai restaurant in the hotel which we didn't try but the influence was evident in bar food which was delish. Our package included a 3 course meal in the main restaurant and, again, standard of food was well above average with duck/steak etc available as part of our package. Music on the Fri and Sat night, one man band sure what more do the kids want just a bob around. Breakfast v good (apart from only bad tempered staff member we encountered). Staff v friendly and couldn't do enough. Leisure centre is brill, kids allowed bring in inflatables etc and be a bit rowdy (jumping etc) not allowed in many hotels we visited. Also lovely outdoor hot tub/sauna, jacuzzi etc. Will def be back and will try spa treatments next time as they looked great. Even used the gym (bring headphones). All in all great spot, great staff and we loved the donkeys!!!

Room Tip: Ask for refurbed river view room.

Dear Trip Advisor Member,
We love to hear guests that say they will definitely be back. It immediately proves that you were very impressed with the service we offer. Like many families that have visited us over the years you saw the best of the Falls Hotel & Spa. Our famous donkeys, Music in the bar and our facilities and our aqua and leisure club can make all the difference in keeping the little ones entertained.
One area that you also admired was the standard of food we offer in both our Dylan Thomas Bar and our Cascades Restaurant. In relation to our carvery lunch menu we have recently added a new snack/ light lunch menu also served from 12.30-5pm. This includes bagels, Paninis, pizzas, baked potatoes, bruschetta and many more.
You won't regret coming back to us and when you try our spa treatments you will keep coming back to us for years to come. Thanks again for taking the time to post the review.

This is a classic old Irish hotel...big and spacious...a little worn but comfortable and fine for families or couples. We didn't like our first room and asked for a better and were delighted with a sixth floor room in the back. Food was ok, staff was helpful for the most part. There's an interesting waterfall and walk into town. This is not a luxury hotel, but a good rest stop after a lot of touring. The spa was a positive experience...try the Balinese massage with Ade...it was wonderful.
Near Lehinch is Barrtra restaurant...a rare treat with local food and ambiance.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room with a view. If you don't like the room assigned, then ask for a change.

Dear TripAdvisor Member,
Ade in particular will be delighted with your praise but overall it's impressive to see that you were happy with the standard of all our staff members.
Overall you had mostly positives to say and that pleases all the team at the Falls Hotel & Spa.
It's a pity you were not happy with our original room allocation but it is pleasing that we handled the situation and both parties were happy in the end when you got a new room.
Hope that you will return to us again in the future.

The Falls Hotel and spa is a hotel that not every visitor will like. If you are accustomed to the blasé style of chain hotels then this hotel will be out of your comfort zone. The hotel in itself is very nice, all rooms that we were in were clean and very spacious although a little dated.

We did not have dinner here but the breakfast was lovely and the staff were very efficient.

I think the spa part is the most modern part of the hotel and it is wonderful, lovely view of the river and very relaxing if you are into that side of things, well worth a visit. Make sure you visit the out door hot tub as well, its lovely in Ireland where at times it can be a little bit cold and rains quite a bit having the warmth of the hot tub is lovely.

There are some very excellent walks around the area and a special little treat if you are an animal lover are the donkeys who live in the little field to the front of the hotel and at the start of one of the walks. Also a picture at the falls is a must if your staying here, they really look great from the right angle.

I would go back to the Falls hotel as it is very good value for money but don't expect 5 star finishes, enjoy the uniqueness of the hotel and its quaint decorative style.

Dear Trip Advisor Member,
For me your review is summed up in one of your final sentences "enjoy the uniqueness of the hotel and its quaint decorative style."
You rightly point out that we are a bit different and that's what we are proud of. We are not another lifeless and sterile modern hotel but instead we are delved in history and aim to please people like yourself.
Your review is very kind and you highlight many positives of our hotel. Your beautiful photos that you posted also really convey the beauty of our waterfall and our donkeys. You also appreciate our staff and our value for money which cannot be underestimated. Despite all the praise already you mostly fell in love with our River Spa. To be honest that's expected and all visitors always single out our outdoor hot tub for extra praise.
Hope to see you back at the Falls Hotel & Spa again soon!

We checked in and checked out within 3 hours. The room was clean, but smelled moldy and musty, I couldn't stand it. They would not refund my money. Of all the places we stayed in Ireland, this was the most disappointing. Over priced and over rated. No wi-fi either. The staff really didn't seem to care one way or the other since we were staying in one of the "best" rooms in the hotel. It looks nothing like the pictures on the web site!

The staff here was outstanding, very helpful and courteous. However, the rooms are very outdated. The beds aren't bad but the bathroom was pretty gross. The half shower door was falling apart and rusted, there was mildew all around the sink, all the fixtures and decor had seen better days. We actually checked out early because it was pretty gross. The view was beautiful, so there is an upside. Again, the staff was super great about everything. Whoever the manager is at the desk is outstandingly wonderful.
