We have been 2 times now at Moy House - it is the best. Not from the West Coast - from Irland! Location and rooms you cant beat. The food is just outstanding. Once per week, the offer a gourmet diner on Michelin level. Its worth to drive to Moy, even if you are not residence! Booking extentiell. Price is high without doubt - but comparing to other boutique hotels it seems ok.
Stephan

Room Tip: Sea View!! The junior suites in the lower level with privat terrace we like most.

My girlfriend and I decided to leave the husbands at home and take a trip to Ireland in May. Moy House was one of the highlights of our trip. Where do I begin???

First, Brid and her team are stellar. Diane and I arrived at Moy House early in the morning after an overnight flight from NY. Since our room was still occupied, Brid invited us to join them for breakfast, and had an extra room ready for us to use for the day. Her hospitality is outstanding.

We stayed our first night in the Well Signature Suite. If you have the chance, reserve this very special room with a conservatory looking out at the grand lawn and the sea. Our last night, we stayed in a Deluxe Seaview Room. Also a wonderful, cozy, spacious room with a fabulous view.

I have traveled the world, and stayed in many 5-star hotels. I can honestly say that Moy House is at the very top of my list, with the Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental a distant second and third. Here’s why:

--Staff: Outstanding in every way. From “Hello” to “Good-bye,” every possible desire is taken care of. Directions, extra towels, waitstaff--all superior. Special mention to Caroline and Margaret, who really treated us like royalty.

--Breakfast: The best we had in Ireland. The dining room is stunning and comfortable. The chef’s breads and muffins are fabulous. And the breakfast options are imaginative and totally delicious. Note to Chef--you must send me your sourdough bread recipe!!

--Setting: Couldn’t ask for anything better in Ireland. Close to town, but far enough to feel secluded and relaxed. Beautiful views from every window. The drawing room is stunning. Bay window with candles as dusk settles over the ocean. A fabulous honesty bar. One feels like a character out of "Wuthering Heights."

--Dinner: The chef offers a tasting menu, which we were able to enjoy both nights. Excellent, innovative sampling of foods.

--Rooms: As stated, both rooms were exceptional. Comfortable beds. All amenities. Glorious bathrooms. Very generous and thoughtful turn-down gifts.

--Negatives: Had to leave to go back to my normal life. Afraid that too many people will discover this gem and there won’t be a reservation when I return. Unable to concentrate on my job back home, since I am always dreaming of Moy House (maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration...but not much!)

Thanks again to Brid and her team for making our stay so special. You run a perfect establishment, and I look forward to coming back soon!!

Room Tip: Well Signature Suite is outstanding. Enjoy the late sunsets from the conservatory.

We stayed at The Moy House at the end of May for three days. I can't overstate what a relaxing, supremely beautiful experience it was. The attention to detail and quality of service is simply amazing in this day and age when expectations have been lowered. The Moy House sits on a bluff overlooking the Atlantic and within a few steps, you are down on the beach. The dining room overlooks the Atlantic as well and, because The Moy House only accommodates a limited number of guests, we often felt like we were on a private vacation. Oliver, Brid and Caroline made us feel like the most special guests ever to cross their doorway and the food served by the chef was quite literally among the best food we've ever had. The chef is an artist who mixes the most unlikely flavors and spices to fantastic effect.

Even if just passing through, you should try to stay at The Moy House. It is set back from the road in a gorgeous setting and is a very special place. We would return to Ireland just to stay there for several days. You cannot go wrong. We thank all of the staff in The Moy House for making our visit a very special time for us.

Room Tip: We loved our room on the lower floor looking out at the ocean.

We stayed last week at the Moy House in Lahinch, Ireland ... we have been going to Ireland every year for a decade now but had never stayed at "The Moy" ... what a terrific experience ... very romantic environment, beautiful setting, magnificent manor home/rooms, world class staff, and a superb chef. What more could one ask for.

Room Tip: the "deluxe rooms" (especially the Clooney) are fantastic ... a few steps from the front d...

Amazing location and views.
Attentive, friendly professional staff. Wonderful food and a drawing room with an honesty bar and fireplace. We did not want for a thing! Fairly expensive but a great value for the price. Caroline the night time Manager was truly wonderful!

I really struggled with leaving moy house! I absolutely loved it and I have stayed in many hotels and this is unbelievable. Brid, the manager is first class in her role, nothing was too much trouble for her, 7 months pregnant and running around like a marathon runner. If you want tranquility, exquisite food( thank you Gerard!) comfort that makes your own home feel insignificant, then stay at Moy house!

This was our second time to visit Moy House and we wondered if it could be as good as we remembered. It was even better. From the lovely warm welcome we received from Caroline to the farewell from Brid we couldn’t have asked for more.
We were given an upgrade to the Signature Suit which is just beautiful. It is tastefully decorated and comfortable with fantastic views from the wall of windows. We spent most of our time just sitting looking out at the waves and beautiful blue sky.
The staff at Moy house is wonderful, they make you feel so special and nothing is too much trouble for them. Of course the house itself is lovely and cosy with open fires and comfortable furniture and little nooks and crannies to enjoy. The Honesty bar in the lounge is great in the evening before dinner where we met up with other guests and enjoyed a drink from the huge selection.
The taster menu which we had on both nights was deliciously cooked by Chef Gerard whose love of food and new ideas comes across when chatting to him in his kitchen. He didn’t seem to mind me popping in for a coffee or a beer from the fridge.
After dinner with a lovely bottle of wine we returned to our room to a beautiful fire burning in the stove and the room all cosy and warm. What more could one ask for with the sound of the waves crashing outside. We also enjoyed the treats left each evening with the turn down especially the Chocolate Chicken on Easter Saturday.
We didn’t want to leave on our last morning and prolonged the time with a yummy breakfast in our room reading the newspaper and gazing at the waves. Heaven!
I don’t want to forget anything in explaining how wonderful Moy House is, all I can say is that we will return and hopefully soon. Thank you Brid, Caroline, Gerard and the other ladies whose names I didn’t get. We had a truly wonderful time.
