This is a very highly rated Irish golf course and rightfully so. Despite windy and drizzling conditions we had a great time. The course is unique, naturally formed in the dunes alongside the bay. There is lots of tall grass and blind shots but our experienced caddy guided us through the many pitfalls. Two of the holes - numbers 4 & 5 - are still the original design of old Tom Morris and are unlike anything you will find in the United States. Much the same can be said of the entire course. A true delight, not to be missed.

This golf course should be on every golfer's bucket list!! From the moment you step out of your car the experience begins ....
The non golfers can walk to the promenade onto the beach follow all the walkers to where the river Inagh meets the sea, then this walk leads you back onto the road back to the golf club ..... food is lovely and wholesome staff friendly . Golf course is magnificent a popular course with all nationalities.

Thank you for your kind words and it is interesting that you also highlighted the link between the golf club and village as this is what makes Lahinch unique.

They say people come here for golf but return for the experience!

My son and I played 8 rounds on 7 courses last month and Lahinch came on top in both of our minds. Between the natural beauty, the great holes going down to the ocean's edge and the conditioning, it was OUTSTANDING in all elements. THe two quirky holes 4 and 5, only added to it's allure. I happened to par Dell with a chip off of the back side of the hill and a short putt. These were followed by 6/7 which were wonderful! My caddie, Owen did a great job for me, encouraging me after some of my wayward shots. 12 was a great par 5 along the water

We ranked Lahinch ahead of Portmarnock, RCD, Waterville, Royal Portrush, The Island and Ballybunion Old(with it's horrible fairways!).

This is the kind of course you would buy a plane ticket tomorrow if someone had a tee time for you the next day, it's that good.

Lahinch has moved into my Top 5, along with Cypress Point, National Golf Links, Murfield and Pebble. It pushed out Fischers Island(sadly)

WOW! Thank you for much for your wonderful comments and we are honoured to be included in your Top 5.

There is something special about playing the Klondyke (4th) & the Dell (5th) both designed by Old Tom Morris in 1894 and then turning towards the Atlantic Ocean and the spectacular vista when you reach the top of the hill on the 6th Hole - that is why we call it Paradise!

All I can say is you buy the plane ticket and we will arrange the tee time!

Looking forward to welcoming you back to Lahinch in the future.

Kindest Regards

Lahinch is an awesome links course with plenty of interesting challenges. It was in great shape despite the summer drought of 2018. It’s right next to the surf school and equally windy, but there are sheltered spots, including the Par 3 where the best route to the green is over a mountain! It will make a great location for the 2019 Irish Open.

The drought earlier this year proved very challenging but we are immensely proud of our greenkeeping team who worked tirelessly to ensure that the golf course was presented in good condition during and after this exceptional spell of weather.

We are looking forward to hosting the DDF Irish Open in 2019 and hopefully you will get the opportunity to join us for a week of fun!

I played Lahinch last week for the fifth time. Each time I have come away with more respect for this old classic. It has a few quirky holes but that is part of what makes Lahinch unique. The lay-out is beautiful and the course is in outstanding shape. The Irish Open is scheduled to be played there next year. That alone should tell you how much this course is appreciated in Ireland. I would also like to add that the entire staff at the Club went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable.

We were the last group out on 5 September 2018. No doubt the morning groups had the worst of the weather, but we did get a taste of the wind and rain the course can throw at you with our 1520 tee time. The course was in fine condition and the greens rolled true. Our caddy Ian was a great lad; very knowledgeable and eyes like a hawk (we wish him well in his studies). If you hit his marks there was a good result. I cannot say I have played the best courses in the world, but for me this is the most enjoyable round I have ever played. My only fault, and it goes both ways, is that we assumed the pro shop would be open after our round to buy Lahinch gear. It was not. A pint of Smithwick in the bar was fine, but as golfers we all know having swag from the great courses we play is a badge of honor. Searching the online shop there are no golf shirts (Polo) to purchase. Suggest updating the online shop, and having the staff remind the late golfers that the pro shop may be closed when they putt out on 18.

Delighted to read that you enjoyed your golf day at Lahinch and that you were ably assisted by Ian which made your experience even more pleasing.

Apologies about the golf shop not being open after your round. You should have been informed about the opening hours before you teed off but we have addressed your comments since your visit.

WE hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Lahinch in the future.

This course simply must be played to be appreciated. I have played most of the top 100 in GB and Ireland and this one is fabulous as you play through, around, and over the dunes. It is stunning and has the WOW factor. Get there.

Fantastic course in great condition compared to some of the others we visited on our trip. A great layout with some narrow fairways and funky greens. Was lucky enough to have a great caddy on the day who really helped enhance the experience

The first two and the last two holes at Lahinch are pretty forgettable but everything else in between is fabulous and truly memorable. Yes, there are a lot of blind shots and brutal bunkers but with a good caddy you will know where to go and what to hit. The par 3's are very challenging because if you miss the greens you are in deep trouble. We played Ballybunion the day before and Lahinch was far superior for everyone in our group. I've played a lot of top 100 courses and Lahinch is likely in my top 10. If the first two and the last two holes were better it would be in my top 5.

due to a tournament but the Castle course was worth the game. Narrow fairways, great greens and a good but fair rough made for a great first golfing round of a ten golf course trip. Fast play and friendly staff also made it great.

Sorry to read that you were unable to play the Old Course during your recent visit but at least you had the opportunity to play the Castle Course which is less challenging but a really good golfing experience with pure fescue greens.

Hopefully you will get the opportunity to play the Old Course during your next visit to Ireland.
