“Group weekend in Lahinch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2014

We stayed in the Atlantic Hotel on Feb 7th and 8th. Everything went well. The rooms bookings were perfect, and there was plenty of parking in the back of the hotel. The decor is not modern, but it is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are very comfortable. The hotel is in the town centre, so only one block away from the ocean, the main pubs are on the same street, and the shopping centre is across the street from the rear entrance to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. In particular, we were impressed that a full breakfast was still provided (within the room rate) in the bar for the few of the group who rose too late for the designated breakfast time. It was a really nice touch that made us feel that our custom was appreciated.

We stayed in this hotel from the 2nd-4th Jan! The hotel was homely, the staff were lovely and the food was great! Don't expect a modern Hotel, as it is quite outdated but on the plus side, very clean! The rooms are small and the bathroom could do with an update! I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Lahinch is a beautiful spot with lots of great pubs, food, people and Scenery! I would definately go back again, maybe with earplugs the next time, as it can be quite noisy!

We were without a reservation heading from Dingle to Galway on the 23rd of December. We had some difficulty finding a hotel and were referred to this hotel- they were so helpful in accommodating us. We had a lovely stay here, great dinner and breakfast- they helped us fill up to hungry young men and succeeded. They were also helpful in suggestions non our way to Galway. The hotel is older, but nicely done up and charming. Great bathtubs. Highly recommend

we stayed in this hotel for 2 days room was clean and cosy. The Bar was lovely and warm the fire was so homely . The bar food was really lovely and tasty . The staff in this hotel were really friendly and helpful . The breakfast was excellent and there was plenty to eat. There were lots of lovely pubs to relax in , The Corner Stone is across the road from the hotel and they have lovely food all day . The beach is 2 mins away and the view is wonderful.

Have eaten here many times and never disappointed
The steak is incredible as is the duck
and the most friendly staff always in good humour
Will be back many more times
It is obvious from the staff that the owners pride themselves on the quality of the food and service

2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

The Irish hospitality superb as always but afraid the hotel is very outdated and misleading.

Myself, my husband and our 2 teenagers stayed here for 3 nights in October 2013. We booked directly through the hotel website for 2 nights originally but ended up having to stay a 3rd night unexpectedly. On arrival we noticed a flyer advertising 3rd night free with any package but when we tried to book this we were told we would still have to pay as we had not prebooked this offer - strange as it wasn't advertised on their website so we couldn't prebook it. Decided to ask for the manager to reconsider as we couldn't see anything that stated we had to prebook, but he wouldn't change his mind, so very disappointed with that!! The only incentive was to knock off 7 euros per person but we should have saved 120 euros!! Atlantic Hotel - if you advertise something in your hotel it should be available on your website or you should at the very least allow your paying customers to access the special offer!! How misleading!!

The rooms and bathrooms were in dire need of an update and it was a great shame to see holes in the pillowcases and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling lights. However, the beds were our greatest cause of unhappiness with their 'roll together' factor - Atlantic Hotel - its time you bought new mattresses!!!

We only ate breakfast meals there as they were included in our booking. The food was satisfactory but we found the dining room quite clammy - it was getting up to 16 degrees outside and the air con was on but the machine, while noisy, seemed inefficient.

Overall very disappointing and certainly expensive for the facilities provided. Not to be repeated.

We recently ate here with friends but didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms but if I was organising a hen party and looking for central accommodation I'd prob book there! Overall food was average, starters were better than mains, pasta dish was good although garlic bread was hard. Others had the sirloin steak and weren't impressed at all, sides were fine and plentiful but pepper sauce was like gravy and meat wasn't great. Desserts were average to be honest, nothing too wrong with them just basic!!
