We booked through a third party & paid the same rate as family members who booked directly through the hotel as we were attending a family wedding. Our room was dated, dirty stained carpets & walls, bed linen looked very dated & the bathroom stank of a very bad odor. We contacted reception & a staff member came to our room & explained as we booked through a third party this is why we were offered this style of room. I explained that we frequently use third party to book hotels eg: Groupon deals & we have never be offered a room to a low standard as this. Our family members room was updated & modern & more importantly stain & smell free. In the end we were offered to choose from 3 other rooms that were not much better as the one we had been given. We offered to upgrade & pay more money to get a modern room. By no means were we going to subject our infant to a low hygiene room. The staff said that our breakfast would be a compliment for the inconvenience but the extra money we paid was the cost of our breakfast.

Room Tip: Do not book through a third party as you will be offered a poor room for the same rate contact the h...

As a fan of the Clare Inn, as it was, I have recently been back with my wife to the newly relaunched Inn at Dromoland. While the staff are still the same friendly bunch who have always made us feel welcome some of the changes are not for the best. We eat in the dining room three times during our stay and we have to be honest, the quality of the food offering has declined considerably. We understand the chef has changed but we think the meat supplier may also have changed as the quality of the meat is inferior to past offerings. The prices of standard rooms have also nearly doubled in less than a year and this will drive many people to the many cheaper local hotels. So come on new management team, get your act together or you will lose your target market.

My secretary booked me in the 'The Inn at Dromoland', as i was on a business trip to this area of Ireland(Limerick), The hotel is in nice groungs, is very large and was quite busy. The hotel mainly caters for families, so if you like unruly children running around and screaming babies in the dining room, this is the place for you. (why people cant control thier children amazes me. The food was very good but the menu quite limited, breakfast was also good with a good selection, service was a little slow and the table took a while to be cleared away. The room was ok but a little dated, its also a long walk to the rooms at the far end of the hotel, apparently they are updating their rooms but you have to pay extra to stay in one of these!!

Found this hotel to be pleasant. Staff helpful and courteous. Didn't try restaurant but bar foods was excellent. Room was comfortable. Location of hotel is handy for touring locally. Plenty to do with swimming pool and outdoor activities.

We are a family 2ad & 4 children after staying 3 nts b@b 1 dinner. I found it to be fairly reasonably priced and the breakfast was up to standard, but the evening dinner was SUPERB!! We stayed here a good few times while it was the Clare Inn and noted the changes... It appears to be catering more for weddings as there were 2 in the 3 days, numbers of families were completely down (not that this is a bad thing, it was a bit like a zoo before) Large rooms Dbl & 4 sgl are completely gone, which I personally am very sad about, as I was also when they lost the apartments...Overall great hotel for families with lots of facilities etc.. captain Jack show, magician show, mini golf, tennis..Staff were very helpful also.. Would definitely recommend it to families & look forward to next visit..

Room Tip: Rooms can be up a very long corridor or upstairs with no lift servicing that area, so stress if walk...

we stayed at the inn at dromoland for 2 nights b&b and 1 dinner on the 11th & 12th august. it is very family friendly. the kids loved the pitch & putt, crazy golf and play ground. The food was very good & service was excellent.all the staff were very good at their jobs well done.
our room was spacious we had 2 ad & 3 kids, although they do need to be modernised, telly wasnt great & carpet & bathroom needs up dating.
the pool area also needs to be modernised.

Room Tip: up grade to a newer room if possible
