The property is an amazing place. It is well preserved and up to date. Rooms are large and generously appointed. The surrounding area is inspirational with the golf course surrounded by forests, lakes and ponds. The service was friendly, efficient and warm. We had dinner in the formal dining room and it was excellent. Health club/gym has a pool and a variety of workout equipment.

We hope to return to play the golf course. It was an inspirational Castle as you might imagine it.

My family stayed at the castle for thr second time in August. Fantastic place with great rooms, service and activities for everyone. Great last stop if leaving from Shannon Airport. We had one day where it rained all day so we stayed in our PJ's, watched movies and ordered room service where they offered to bring anything we could think of. Cant wait to go back.

Sometime in everyone's life they should spend a night (or three) in a castle. Dromoland is a spectacular choice. The grounds are serene, with many unique activities, beautiful gardens and outstanding cuisine. Top it off with a few hours in the pub after dinner for friendly conversation. The local area features many opportunities to experience the Irish countryside, and the proximity to Shannon airport makes it very convenient.

We enjoyed two wonderful nights at the Dromoland Castle in mid-September. The accommodations are outstanding with fine views of the property; in our case the challenging 18th green on the hotel's golf course. Both the main dining room and the informal setting at the golf course pro-shop offered diverse menus, good service and high quality fare. Dromoland is expensive, but well worth it.

Room Tip: They are al very good. Each is different. Views of the golf course especially nice.

My husband and I spend a fanastic wekend in Dromoland Castle recently. Our son and his new american wife from Sandiego CA, were in Ireland for a short trip and eight of the family spent two fantastic days in the Castle. We were all very impressed with the food, accommodation and the service.Even the weather was great, not sure if Dromoland had anything to do with that but as they are so good at what they do, it would not surprise me.They have the complete package , our experience was magical.

Room Tip: All the Family were delighted with their rooms, especially the honeymoon couple .There was a wedding...

We stayed at the Dromoland Castle on our last night in Ireland after 3 1/2 weeks of charm & sophistication in some places, wading through fields of sheep droppings in others, exploring the history and culture of Eire and this was the perfect ending to a perfect trip. Hard to imagine how they could have made it better. While the place is showing its age and its worn around the edges, if you want a glittering tower of steel and glass you're in the wrong country. Go to New York and hang out with the trolls of the big city. This is a hotel that is hundreds of years older than all of America's development. Dromoland is charm, grace, style and service that is as good as any in the world. Amazing views, excellent rooms (it may need some paint and new carpet in places) but what 500+ year old building doesn't. The staff make you feel like Royal Guests and they endeavor to overcome and shortfalls in the age of the place with SUPERIOR SERVICE and a smile. Hard to beat that anywhere.

Every staff person at the Dromoland Castle Hotel was positive, professional and helpful...the front desk, the housekeeper, the bellmen, the wait staff!
We stayed in the newer wing which is across the courtyard (accessible as well from inside the hotel) and our room was quite large and very comfortable.
Fine dining in the main dining room was excellent and having a cellist play during dinner was a real treat. The food was delicious (though I would like to have more vegetables) and the presentation and service was perfect.
I hope to return soon! Very soon!
