“We found a new home!”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

Almost every other summer for the past 25 years my family and I have spent our vacation time in Ireland. We used to spend our last night at a well known Country Home not too distant from Shannon Airport. It was a wonderful way to end our trip. The last time we were there we had a truly terrible time topped off by amazing rudeness on the part of the owners. We mourned our loss. Where would we go now? THEN WE FOUND CAHERGAL FARMHOUSE! This magnificent accommodation outshines our earlier experiences and our greatest expectations. The buildings, rooms, and grounds are beautiful, welcoming and rejuvenating. The proprietors are delightful, helpful and make everyone feel like family. The food is good and everything that can be done to help a traveling family along its way is accomplished. This year we are looking forward to spending more than our traditional last night there. We are extending our stay to several days. This, in part, is due to our 17 year old son's having been invited to play Lacrosse for the Irish men's team at this year's Celtic Cup. It will be played at nearby Limerick University. What a wonderful excuse to stay at Cahergal Farmhouse for several more days. I can't recommend this wonderful accommodation or the family that owns and runs it highly enough.

We spent two nights with Noreen and Michael in their delightful country home. Our spacious bedroom with large windows overlooked lush green pastures grazed by cows and their little calves and glossy horses with their foals. Comfortable bed- lots of fluffy white towels - big shower lots of hot water. Breakfast in sunny dining room with delicious bacon eggs etc cooked to order. Fruits cereals yogurts etc. Noreen is a wonderful hostess - full of information and advice about day trips and places for dinner. Michael will take you horse riding if you wish! A memorable experience - we will be back. Patricia Greene

We picked Cahergal Farmhouse because it was close to the Shannon airport and we didn't want to have a long drive to the airport in the morning (that worked out great, never heard a plane fly over but we were returning our rental car 15 minutes after pulling out of the driveway). The farmhouse was just a few minutes off the freeway but we felt like we were way out in the country. The main house is large and beautifully furnished . The rooms were nice and breakfast was great. My three kids loved the farm and the relaxed atmosphere. My two daughters love horseback riding but we did not pre-schedule a ride. They were able to set up a last minute ride and lesson with Michael who did a great job! The girls had a blast and were able to ride right over to the newborn foal (see photos). Noreen was sweet and helpful. My girls also fell in love with the old dog that was hanging around the stables. If we are ever back that way we will make sure to spend some more time there.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our twins, Noreen put us in a great big room in the old back house which was stunning, she offered to baby sit one night so we went to a local pub which was brilliant and her son cooked us a great Guinness beef stew and pie the following night which was very yummy. Noreen is such a lovely lady and it is such a beautiful property - a must stay if in this area. Looking forward to bringing the twins back when theyre old enough to ride the horses
We also loved buttons the dog - super cute!

Noreen made our final day/night in Ireland very memorable. We had an early flight and she made sure that we got a hardy breakfast for the long trip back home with only airplane food to look forward to. And even with all of her demands in running her fantastic Farm and B&B she sat down with us during tea and our breakfast that she also prepared. Amazing woman who made us feel like family. Would definitely stay again.

My daughter and I just returned home from Ireland. The farmhouse was our last night before returning to Arizona. Beautiful countryside, Noreen was a lovely hostess and the accommodations were just perfect. We met her two sons who were very kind and accommodating. Just a very quality family who takes pride in their business. Thank you Noreen

We have lodged at Cahergal Farmhouse on three different occasions. The first time was twenty years ago. The second time was fifteen years ago. The third time we were not disappointed. Noreen, her husband Michael and their children are gracious hosts. We feel now, like they are our family. It is one of our favorite B and B's.

Their beautiful home and farm is near and convenient to Shannon Airport, Dromoland Castle, and Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Noreen is a marvelous cook and always sets a beautiful table. She uses her own fresh eggs in her dishes. Bedrooms are spacious with en suite bathrooms.

They also have a historic, newly remodeled, beautifully decorated, immaculate self catering cottage for large families. All the rooms are spotless. It is not difficult to rest there, the setting is very serene and beautiful. Rolling hills dotted with sheep, cattle, and horses. A foal had been born two days prior to our arrival. They also have two very sweet dogs. Flower and vegetable gardens are nice also. One of our favorite things to do there was to walk and enjoy the pleasant surroundings.

We would not even think of visiting Ireland without going to Cahergal. It is a magical place where we have made special memories!
