The Beach is just north of Fahan, and about 4 miles south of Buncrana, in County Donegal. It's a beautiful recreational beach for locals, but also gets lots of day-trippers, especially from Derry, which is about 8 miles away. The area is a natural heritage area and a wetland site for birds. During the Summer months, it has a life-guard on patrol, and you'll find the times displayed on a notice board on the beach. It also has a car-park, but on sunny days, it gets quite full.
