A large hotel which borders a road and the lough, ask for a room on the Lough side as the roadside can be noisy.

The room I stayed in was large, the shower was small and not very powerful but the bathroom was clean. The room otherwise was fine.

The staff were average, not particulary accomodating when we asked for a different table at dinner we were refused even though there was space in the dining room.

The restaurant was quite large with pleasant views of the golf course. The food in the dining room was average but was served promptly. It was'nt particulary expensive.

The bar was very busy and was at the opposite end of hotel from the reception and restaurant!

Did'nt use the leisure facilities.

During our stay some building work was ongoing.

Overall, nice location and value for money.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and enjoyed every minute of it. We had a great view of Lough Swilly from our room. The food was very good and the breakfast was excellent. I found the staff very helpful apart from one receptionist who was gruff and alittle short. The leisure centre and the wellbeing centre was superb. Top Marks!

I visited the Inishowen Gateway Hotel a couple of months back and found that the service staff was excellent despite the obvious lack there of. Although I found the colour scheme of the hotel was a little over bearing including the interior room to the uniforms of the staff which were a little dated for the modern times that we live in.

The hotel was not up to the standard we expected. The rooms are quite dated and the food was passable. On the other hand the leisure complex is more impressive and boosts a fair size of pool, leisure facilties etc. This part of Donegal is very pretty and if you get a room on the Lough side I would say the outlook would be better.

Excellent stay - beautiful views of Lough Swilly from both our room and the restaurant/breakfast room.

Food was very good - and plenty of it too. The pool is an added bonus too - to work the dinner off!!

We recently went for a weekend away and stayed in Sligo, Letterkenny and Buncrana. Out of all the hotels we stayed in, the Inishowen gateway was my least favourite and ended up costing the most. It was very quiet the nite we were there even though it was a bank holiday weekend. The room were a dark pinky red colour and looked like they were in need of a facelift. It seems to be an old enough hotel and although there is nothing in particular wrong with it, it just seemed below average for the money paid. Especially as I am comparing it to Clarion and Radisson hotels that we had stayed in the nites previous. Its still be far the best hotel in Buncrana though as I only seen one other hotel, the lake of shadows and it seemed very ran down. Buncrana is a nice town with a nice beach. The nite life is fairly good with a couple of good bars and niteclubs (one even has dancers)!!
