Owner is a golfer, with two cases full of Crystal Trophies. Obtain instructions as Guesthouse is not located in Ballybunion, but outside. Nice little town with good restaurants. Godd access to the Shannon Ferry. Owner was very helpful to golfers staying at the Guesthouse as he has playedc all the nearby courses and knows the Pros at the courses. Great breakfast with the quote of our trip when he provided more than requested" It si better to be looking at it than for it"

Room Tip: We were upgraded at no cost to a very large top floor room with a view of the Bunnion

Hello adventure61 from Canada,

Thank you so kindly for writing such a glowing review of the Tides Guesthouse in Ballybunion.
We get to meet quite a lot of golfers throughout the golfing season at Ballybunion it is always a pleasure to welcoming you all.

There is also so much sightseeing in the local area likes of Bromore Cliffs walks not to be missed and the five miles of Golden sand beaches.

The Crystal Trophies are 25 years of golfing and been lucky enough to have the right playing partners at the right time and the ability of picking them !

I love that saying " it is better to be looking at it than for it" that was about breakfast at the Tides is good and we try to look after you folks well. If you left the breakfast table in the morning and we didn't look after you right - heading out for the day either golfing, fishing, walking etc and half way up the hill and getting tired due to hunger and thinking I should have had the pancakes for breakfast ! then you think of my old saying.

Thank you so kindly for such a glowing review

Our 3 night stay at The Tides was absolutely outstanding. The owner, David, went out of his way to help us find our way around and highlight the area for us.

The home is very clean and quiet; the breakfasts-delicious.

Hello John,

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review and taking the time to write it here on TripAdvisor.
It was our pleasure to look after you folks and more so from the Irish state of Boston Massachusetts. We have so many great friends from Boston and indeed the USA.

We read your review and after three nights stay with us to find the Tides Absolutely Outstanding!

There are no words to add to that only our sincere thanks to you both.

We had planned to stay elsewhere while in this part of Ireland but friends recommended this place and we changed our plans. I am so glad that we did. This guesthouse is magnificent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are more than luxurious. Breakfasts are delighful. Our hosts managed to offer us many creature comforts but without hovering over us. They provided us with more than we could have hoped for on this trip. Of all the places we stayed while in Ireland, England and France this was our most favorite and the one place we would all want to return to once again!
Thank you John Curtin. And a special thanks to David and Doreen. Much continued success with Tides Guesthouse!!

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are going to be absolutely delightful!

Without question the best accomodation in Ballybunion. David and Doreen are the ultimate hosts. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. Better than a 5* hotel room!
The breakfast is 5 star. Superb guest living room with great view. Home from home.

Hello Brien & Belinda,

Thank you both very much for writing such a glowing review of Ballybunion and the Tides Guesthouse. It was very good of your both to compare us to 5* Hotel and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay in Ballybunion.

Our Guest living room was designed to make our valued guest feel like home away from home with all the Sports channels. Great to see the golf highlights and indeed the end of the Golf tournament live before retiring for the night and the Fairways of dreams awaits.

Till we see you both again in Ballybunion our sincere thanks for you wonderful review

Sincerely

David & Doreen Walsh

A friend and I stayed here recently and found the whole experience very enjoyable.
It's located 2mins of a drive from the Main Street or 15mins walk, so location is ideal.
The owner Dave gave us a rapturous welcome Filled With lots of tips of the golf course and surrounding areas. We only stayed two nights but I'm sure if I stayed longer Dave would have found something for us to do each day.
The B&B was very clean and spacious with a comfortable place to relax after a days activities and free Internet for Those who need it.
They also do a brilliant breakfast I had the traditional Irish breakfast, and as a connoisseur of such things I wasn't disappointed! The pancakes looked incredible too.

Overall I'd stay again, it's less of a B&B and more of a Boutique Hotel!
