In August we took a golf trip to Ireland. This was our second trip to Ballybunion and once again we were not disappointed. There was no question as to where we would stay. The 19th Lodge, again! The lodge is exceptional for cleanliness and comfort.
Mary and James go out of their way to make sure guests are well taken care of and the breakfast is outstanding! The lodge is across from Ballybunion Golf Club and you could not ask for a better location. We plan a return trip next summer and again we will be staying at the 19th lodge. Reservations for golf can also be made through the lodge which is very helpful.
Mary and James once again, thank you for being such wonderful hosts. You have helped to make the trip to Ireland another memorable one for my father and I.

After being extremely disappointed in our accomodation in Dublin, we arrived at the 19th Lodge. Our first impressions were "wow". We were greeted by the wonderful Mary and James.
Two of the most lovely Irish people we have met.

After welcoming us we went to our rooms - which to our delight were more than 5 star accomodation.
They were the absolute epitome of elegance and comfort. We inspected each of the 4 rooms that the members of our party had and all reached the same high standard of comfort and elegance.
It was a sheer delight to stay here and we would have loved to spend at least a few more days in Mary and James' company. This is definitely one place that we will return to. I could not more highly recommend both the hospitality and accomodation. You will not find better!!!!!!!!
A visit to McMunn's Pub is also highly recommended.

After an extraordinary five days last September at the 19th Lodge, it was a "no brainer" for a repeat visit. Did I set myself up to be let down? Absolutely Not! Staying with James and Mary is like having the best concierge and comfort at a world class hotel and the friendliess of visiting family all into a singular stay. Mary makes the best breakfast in Southwest Ireland and you will need the energy to tackle the Old Course or the Cashen particularly if the weather is "soft", as the locals call rain/windy day. James greatly assisted our group with all our transportation needs and special requirements of an eight person golfing party. Having stayed at other places in town and in County Kerry , I can easily say that it is my favorite!!! I look forward to my return stay at the 19th Lodge.

  • Liked — The friendliness and comfort of the 19th Lodge
  • Disliked — Nothing! The weather was out of their control.

I have stayed twice at the 19th Lodge while playing golf at Ballybunion and other nearby courses. The Inn is located right next to Ballybunion Golf Club and is perfect for golfers. James and Mary run a very hospitable inn that is very comfortable and very clean. The water pressure in the shower just blows you away after a challenging round of golf. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this to any friends.

Wonderful stay for 2 nights. Great hospitality-James and Mary made us feel like their best friends who had come to visit. We were celebrating a birthday in our group and they were so kind to provide us with a cake and coffee and tea after our dinner out. Internet was provided and breakfast each morning was great. Would go back in a heartbeat!!!!!! John and Carol Halliday

Review from Gertraud, Austria.
We have just returned from a stay at the 19th Lodge. The 19th Lodge is a Golfers’ Paradise but not only. Everybody will feel like in heaven there. We have never experienced such wonderful guesthouse before. The service by the owners James and Mary Beasly was so attentive, personal and warm. Breakfast was really delicious, with a broad variety of breakfast menus. Rooms are outstanding, lxuriously furnished with fabulous view on the world famous Ballybunion Golf Courses. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away and finally we did stay 2 days longer than planned. We played golf on the magnificient Ballybunnion Golf Courses which turned out to be a highlight in our golfing life. We also walked the gorgous beach front every day. If we return to Ireland, it will be again to this wonderful unforgettable place.

  • Liked — The attentiveness of the Mary and James Beasly and the great location
  • Disliked — Nothing at all, I loved everytrhing

I recently stayed at the The 19th Lodge on a trip to Ireland. During this 11 day trip I stayed at the Butler Arms Hotel in Waterville and also the Portmarnock Hotel in Dublin, IR., neither of these two VERY fine establishments came close to the experience of staying at the 19th Lodge. If anyone goes to Ireland and plans on visiting this geographical area in Ireland and does not choose to stay here, they have wasted their trip to Ireland and missed out on what the Irish hospitality is all about.
