“My experience at the 19th Lodge in Ballybunion, Ireland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

As a overseas member at Ballybunion Golf Club since 1986 I have stayed with Mary and James at the 19th Lodge for over twenty years and every visit has been wonderful!!! The 19th Lodge is beautiful, comfortable, convenient and the hospitality is five star authenic Irish. I am coming back again this year and will be back to Ballybunion Golf Club and the 19th Lodge until I die.
A Long Time Happy Customer,

I have made ten trips to Ireland since 2000. There are so many wonderful B&Bs but Mary Beasley's 19th is the best. Her charm and hospitality chases the cold Irish chill with her warm heart. The rooms are gorgeous and James gets your day started with a full Irish guaranteed to fuel your journey across the Ballybunion berms and the Cashen dunes. Mary accommodates the varied needs of all her guests. To say you feel at home is to understate the love you receive at the 19th. Whether you golf or just tour the town to see Bill Clinton's stature you won't go wrong by visiting Mary and James Beasley. Make your trip special and make sure you have the 19th on your list of must dos in the Emerald Beauty.

Mary and family simply know what they are doing. If you want to experience Ireland there is no better place! It's close to Ballybunion (about two good drivers away) and a great spot to plant yourself for a trip to the SW. Trallee is literally down the road, Killarney not to far either.

I've been to Ireland on about 30 golf trips and I have to say, being at the 19th is like being at our home in Ireland.

Had a wonderful stay at The 19th Lodge last summer. Mary and James could not do enough for us. Lovely walk to town and beautiful location. Breakfast was spectacular. Would recommend it to anyone. Will definitely go back - we have had many trips not only to Ireland but all over Europe and would rate this B & B the best. The service was excellent and they were a very gracious couple.

Where do I start? ... i have stayed at Mary's guest house every year for the past several years (after disappointing stays at other highly rated Ballybunion properties) and it has always been the BEST. It was hard to believe Mary and James could out do themselves - rooms always pristine, great showers, perfect location for Ballybunion golfers, delicious breakfast, real deal local Irish hosts - but they did ... last August they saved my friend's life! Long story short my golf buddy began experiencing physical difficulty while we were staying at Mary's ... she was the first to notice and kept an eye on him (he had bowed out of a round of golf after his back acted up - no big deal right?!) ... next thing you know she is getting him into the local Doc's office after hours ... from there we were on our way to a private hospital in Tralee where he was hustled into ICU with heart failure ... 5 days later he was in much much better shape and we were able to fly home ... as you might expect we would have been lost without their help, both of us had spent a great deal of time in Ireland but knew nothing about the healthcare system (make sure you go to a private hospital!) ... AND, with all they had going on during their peak season back at The 19th Lodge they came to the hospital to visit TWICE. What more can I say?! Special people running a Special guest house.

We stayed at the 19th for 2 nights and enjoyed every moment!

The rooms were luxurious and spacious, the beds were comfortable and the breakfasts were on a different level.

Mary and James made us feel more than welcome and we are already looking forward to our return.

It has been my pleasure to stay several times with Mary and James. Every single thing about this wonderful B&B if perfect!! It is clean, warm, welcoming and homey. The family makes you feel like family and we always miss them when we leave. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when in Kerry!!

Room Tip: They are all good and clean.
