We arrived in Bunratty, five adults and a four year old. Immediately we felt right at home as Penny welcomed us and engaged the four-year-old with some good Irish humor! The grounds were beautifully manicured and landscaped and the breakfast was wonderful. The closeness of Bunratty Castle and the village just made the whole experience complete. Anyone considering a trip to Bunratty should certainly check out the Dunaree.

My daughter and I stayed here on our last night in Ireland before flying home from Shannon Airport. Penny was so warm and welcoming; I felt as though I were in the home of an old friend. The B&B is beautiful, with comfortable rooms and a fantastic breakfast. It is within walking distance of the castle, shops, and a wonderful pub/restaurant. The road to the B&B is dark, though, so I wouldn't suggest walking it at night. W e really loved having such a short and easy drive to the airport in the morning and will end any future trips to Ireland at the Dunaree B&B.

Beautiful house very close to Bunratty Castle (just up the hill on the same road) and the airport. Lovely breakfast (french toast - a treat and escape from the endless "full Irish breakfast" offered most places) and wonderful hostess. Beds a bit firmer than we like and I would recommend bringing an extension cord with lots of plug-ins on it as there are only two outlets and one is hard to get to. In this modern age of needing to recharge all our communications devices, there can't be too many outlets. ;-) Thank you Penny for a lovely stay.

We stayed at Dunaree for two nights in July 2013. The house was a little difficult to find, but close to the village and the castle. Penny, the owner, was kind and helpful to recommend us things to do and places to visit. The house is very well located to visit Bunratty castle, the cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Don't miss the Tea rooms in Ballyvaughan!

Our room was a little small, but it was clean and quiet. It's a family house converted into a B&B. There were still some clothes in our wardrobe which felt a bit odd but it didn't really matter to us. The breakfast was good and varied.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be comfortable.

This July 2013 I have spent almost 2 weeks visiting the south of Ireland from west to East and this was a second trip after a similar one we had in the North west. In our experience I can easily say that Dunaree B&B is rated at the highest level of our list of B&Bs. The landlord is avery nice person as well as his wife. We spent almost half an hour chatting about Ireland, politics and whether as if we knew each other since long. The rooms are super as well as the food. If you go to Bunratty, do not miss it.

Penny made us feel extremely welcome. The rooms were comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable. Although there is no tea making facillities in the rooms there is access to the dining room with a fridge and tea, coffee biscuits etc at any time. The shower cubicle in our room needed a li,ttle attention as was becoming worn but very clean.
The location is a little out of the village and the road would be very dark at night. That said Penny offered to collect us from the village if we were ready before 11 pm which was extremely kind of her. We used a taxi service which was only 6 euros. Breakfast was delicious I had the best French toast I have ever tasted.Penny was a lovely hostess.

We stayed one night with Penny and Kevin O'Connor at Dunaree in Bunratty on 7/18/13. It was the best B&B we stayed in during our trip - it was clean, cozy and very comfortable. Penny greeted us upon our arrival and we immediately felt like family. There was a TV and a blow dryer in each room. The en suite bath was a good size. Bunratty Castle is a short walk up the street. Our stay was topped off with a wonderful Irish breakfast that included homemade brown bread and scones...fabulous! Kevin and Penny greeted us in the morning and provided some local info. We could not have been happier with our stay at Dunaree. We highly recommend it for the cozy comfort, wonderful Irish hospitality and the convenience to Shannon Airport, which is only 10 minutes away. We'll be back to visit Dunaree again!
