“Good hotel/ wifi signal weak”
Reviewed March 17, 2013 via mobile

Stayed in the hotel one night as part of our group. Hotel was very comfortable and the bar onsite( Kathleen's) was very good. Beds were comfortable. Wifi could only be obtained in the lobby not the rooms.

Dear Tripadvisor Member,

Thank your for your comments on your recent stay here at the hotel, I am sorry to hear your issue in relation to WIFI, I have looked into this and unfortunately last week we had a clitch in our broadband system and there was a general weak signal with the WIFI, thankfully this issue is resolved, We do hope that if you are in the Bunratty area again that you will return to us here at the Bunratty Castle Hotel.

This is a beautiful property and definitely has a resort feel to it. The rooms are very nice, and the beds very comfortable. I wish we had more time to spend there, but it was just a one night stay. We attended the dinner show at the castle, which is conveniently across the street. This resort caters to tourists as there is a tourist wool shop across the parking lot. We would definitely stay there again - and next time we would try out the spa!

i stayed for two nights in march , very good ,helpfull check-in , nice room . the barman was very efficient , there was a good supply of newspapers available in the lobby . the buffet breakfast was a major dissapointment , but whats new with that in irish hotels lately ! the food was cold , stale looking , no fried eggs , dried up porridge and tables slowly cleared ..
the big surprise was the restaurant menu and bar menu which looked like there was a bit of care put in to them . We ate in the bar from both menus (very helpfull as we wanted to watch soccer on tv ) , the food was very nice simply presented good tasty fare !! why cant breakfast be like this , just as bad the following morning , same as above including dirty utensils !!

We went here for a midweek break at the end of January. Food it was ok but in my opinion quite overly priced (€10 for a toasted sandwich, 2 pieces of bread with a filling) buffet style breakfast in the ground floor was fine, nothing to shout about. Though as we were staying in a suit we could have availed of another breakfast restaurant called the library. No one told us about this. The suit we had was massive so no complaints there. Hugh bed big bathroom and a walk in wardrobe/ ironing room. As probably expected because of the time if year the hotel was very quiet as was the rest of Bunratty. The creamery bar has amazing Guinness the best out of all the bars we tried in the town. There only is three. With a visit is the castle and country park it also has a bar but its quite hard to find.
Bunratty mead and potcheen store is worth a quick visit also if just to kill 20 minutes with the walk.
We might give bunratty another go in summer time when it should be a lot busier. Should get a truer reflection of the place

Dear Tripadvisor Member,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us here at Bunratty Castle Hotel. I am sorry to hear that you found the area to be quiet, as Irelands most visited tourist attraction Bunratty Castle & Folk Park is located across the road we do enjoy a tourist trade all year round. I have checked our bar menu and it is €9.95 for a toasted special which included side salad, chips along with your toasted sandwich with a choice of fillings. I do hope that you will return to the village of Bunratty during the summer season and that you will return and stay with us again.

We stayed for one night, check in was speedy with the most pleasant of reception ladies, explained what was included in our stay, directed us to the restaurant, spa etc and had the warmest of smiles a lovely beginning to what was a lovely stay. Our room was on the fourth floor and this is a little dated, mint green leather sofa, very dark wood tables/chairs but the bed was massive and very nice to sleep in and the shower was of a good size. Dinner in their Il'Pomodoro restaurant and this was fantastic, prize wise and quality wise this was a real find, from their salads to steaks it was all just perfect in fact one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. Breakfast on the other hand was very poor, we choose to have breakfast in our room and when it arrived it was cold, no milk for the cereals and very little of everything for an example we were given two pieces of toast for the both of us, the dated look in our room and the poor breakfast is the reason I knocked off one star here, where this hotel really shines in my opinion is with their staff, the beautiful restaurant and their spa, we both went for a little pampering in the Angsana Spa and we were treated to the most stunning experience, the staff here are gems, they respect your privacy while making you relax on a level we would never normal manage in our normal day to day life's. I cannot speak highly enough on my experience within the Angsana Spa, from their special offers, to choice of treatments to the surroundings, it is all just wonderful, we will be sure to return and spend more time in this fabulous spa.

Stayed here for a few nights. Was conveniently located, not in a real town or village though. Kind of a stop along the highway with a few pubs/restaurants, mainly a convenience for day trips. Hotel is fine, nothing spectacular. Front desk staff were very nice, other staff members, ie: breakfast room etc. we're adequate, not particularly warm or enthusiastic.

Breakfast was just average, hard to control temperature in the rooms, could never get it cool enough even though it was quite cold outside.

Hotel restaurant , il Pomodori was very good

Room Tip: Back of the hotel is within view of the motorway......if the noise bothers you stay on the other sid...
