“No Tour - just a small shop”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

We expected a tour based on a travel guide, but were told that it was no longer offered. We waited a few minutes when we first entered before a person showed up and put on an Irish music recording and walked behind the counter.
We were offered a taste of Meade and Potcheen (the only products). Potcheen is the Irish version of American moonshine. Meade is exported, but Potcheen is not. We saw the Meade on sale at other locations but didn't see the Potcheen anywhere else. (We bought a small bottle at the winery).
We were disappointed about the whole encounter and would not recommend.

“A small place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

I am not sure what the tour is, but we did stop in and chat with the one staff working. He was very nice and allowed us to sample some of their wines.

“Hard to find, but the Mead is good!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2012

You have to go back behind the Folk area of Bunratty castle to find the "winery." No tours, but the Mead is great! Worth a stop.

“Not Much to See”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2012

There wasn't much to see here but the Mead was good. Stay away from the Irish Moonshine they sell. It was pretty rough.

Pocheen and Mead are made here on sight and if you are good you can taste them. Pocheen is the legal version of Poitin
