“Perfect place to bring visitors!”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

We have a delegation of 15 Chinese university professors visiting us this week and we brought them to Gallaghers last night for dinner. We had a great evening and it was the perfect place to bring our visitors. There are so many things to compliment! I suppose most importantly the staff were friendly, accommodating and patient. The menu had great choice, the food was really well presented and everything tasted delicious. I'd just like to thank the team working last night for the warm welcome we received. Thanks very much!

“Good Food”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Food is of a high standard and well presented. I had Scallops and the Cod for main all very tasty, others had the steak but not Fillet I would have preferred a fillet option. My wife had the sea food chowder and the chicken for main again well presented and all enjoyed the meal. Furnishings in the restaurant was an old Irish cottage style. The service was good and the meal was reasonably priced.

“My first taste of Irish cuisine in forty years”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

And was I blown away. This was the first meal together for those of us on a small music tour headed for the west coast. We were all amazed not only by the great food, but by the gourmet presentation. The meal was a memorable start to an incredible tour.

“Good food, service and what so many bars should be doing in tourist areas”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

Realy enjoyed a very tasty dinner with my wife here. We both kept the focus on fish and were not dissapointed.

The menu is simple; the food is well presented and the service was excellent. The place was buzzing with a packed friendly atmosphere and yet we were seated, orders taken and food arrived on the table with minimal fuss.

My wifes' crab bake meal came with homemade wedges, but my salmon came with chips - i didn't understand whythere was a need for the 2 different types with simuliar meals. Instead i would probably just have the wedges as it is more 'gastro' focussed which is where they are competing - unless it is simply to balance margins by each dish, in which case that is understandable. It is a stretch to call the menu 'gastro', but it is certainly a quality meal in a beautiful bar.

Well worth a visit and you will not be dissapointed.
