“spa day”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

we came here for a spa day. from the moment we arrived it was so relaxing, we went in the thermal spa, pool and had 2 treaments. back massage was amazing and the dry floatation was very relaxing. we had a 2 course meal (included in price) and left that evening chilled out. the staff were so polite and very professional. our day cost us 75euro for all. it was a special that came through in an e-mail, so it was superb value! will definitly be back.

I've been to Farnham several times now and can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks time.

It is worth paying a little extra each to experieince the junior suites in the main house, even just once. You have to appreciate "oldy worldy" to like these suites, some with their own gas fire places and old fashioned tubs!

The Spa is fabulous, as good as Monart if you have been there.

Farnham is great for couples or for small groups.

The only thing its missing is a lovely dining room, the main dining room is a bit clinical, so check it out and ask for a table near the window to get away from the masses if its busy.
Its quite lovely to eat in the bar with all its cubby holes. They've been very helpful catering for my dietary needs. May help them more if you give them the heads up before you go. They seem to have gluten free options all the time. found them to be extremely helpful when we've stayed 3 nights and was running out of wheat free vegetarian options!

Bring good walking shoes, there are great walks around the grounds of the hotel, or bring a bike to get full use. Some bikes on site to hire.

Go find a sofa in one of the rooms in the main hotel and chill out for a few hours, much better appointed and cosier than the main lobby.

I think this is a value for money piece of luxury not far from Dublin. Watch out for their deals of which they do many throughout the year.

A hotel I'm happy to endorse and shall visit time and time again if the standards are kept.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money if you can if you want the oldy worldy experience of the room in the old house...

Spent weekend with five girlfriends for spa break. We all had some treatment or other and were all very pleased. The spa area is quite large and relaxing. The pool looks great too. We had a meal included in our price. The menu had lots of choice and again everyone was happy with their meal. The bar had a great atmosphere (the hotel was full that weekend & it's quite a distance to nearest town). buffet breakfast was lovely. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

I arrived for a one night stay on a very cold Saturday in February. The car park is situated away from the hotel, if you buzz for a bus it picks you up & drop you at the main door.. a bit of a pain especially when its cold & wet. The foyer is large & bright but cold..you would definitely need a warm jumper to sit in it. The rooms are comfortable, clean & modern. We had dinner in the resturant which was delicious & the staff were very friendly & professional. I enjoyed my stay but there are warmer, cosier hotels around that offer cheaper rooms & for this reason I won't be rushing back!

This is an amazing hotel. I went to a wedding here and it was just perfect. The rooms are fabulous (apart from the weird window from the bathroom into the bedroom thing that some modern hotels are doing these days, what’s with that?) and the whole hotel is beautiful decorated with both modern & traditional elements. The venue where the wedding is hosted is slightly separated from the hotel by a long, open corridor which is good as it keeps the wedding guests together and the public out. There is a good sized lounge bar area for reception drinks and it looks out on to the grounds. The reception room itself is a good size for a wedding of about 150+ and has a bar within the room, again keeping guests together. The wedding meal was really tasty and we enjoyed breakfast the next morning too. Oh and there are lots of lovely walks around the grounds as well.

The main original building of this hotel gas many nice features .. The rest of it is a sprawl .. Laid out over a wide area . Went for a wedding . Civil ceremony .. The room where the ceremony was held was totally enclosed and wood on all sides like a coffin .. As was the room in which the reception was held . No redeeming features .. Checkin and out was slow .. Having to park away from the entrance was an inconvenience .. The drive to the entrance was long and winding with elements of twin peaks .. Not my cup of tea .. Middle of nowhere . No spark about the place . If u are from the city and want a quiet getaway with spa .. Fine . To me not many endearing features .. Excellent breakfast .. Wont be back . Unless get another wedding summons
