We stayed for a weekend in the Cavan Crystal Hotel.
The booking was a last minute thing and we had great difficulty finding anywhere to stay but got lucky with this hotel.

The hotel is stylish and clean.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was absolutely beautiful.
The meal we had in the hotel restaurant was fantastic.

The pool area is nice enough though not as fancy as I would have expected from the rest of the hotel, but the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately the Spa treatments were booked up but as we booked a very last minute stay we can't complain about this aspect..

The setting is not what you could call scenic but as a relaxing hotel based break this hotel was excellent.

I planned my wedding for two years and wanted it to be the most special day of my life! The reception was in Cavan Crystal hotel, it was fantastic and left myself and my husband speechless! Morgan and his staff could not have been more helpful throughout the whole day, as well as the build up to the wedding! Everything went the way i planned it, the meal and service was excellent! The guest rooms and the Bridal suite were unbelievable! It really was the best day of my life!

Just back from a 2 night stay at the Cavan Crystal, and left feeling blown away by the whole experience. We actually couldn’t find any fault with this hotel and we’re quite a picky couple!!! We arrived on Friday evening, the receptionist was very friendly and efficient..quickest check in ever. The room was lovely – nice and spacious, huge king bed – extremely comfy. Had some bar food which was standard but the service again was great. The next day I had treatments in the Salon, which weren’t the best I’d ever received but still nice enough, my partner went for a swim and used the Gym facilities. The Restaurant was the best ever.. The service was perfect, lovely little treats too in between courses and would really recommend the Scallops for starters and the fillet of Beef for the main course, the desserts were nice and light too..Don’t pass on them no matter how full you are!! Breakfasts, again staff couldn’t do enough for you.. You can tell the staff are treated well as they seem to enjoy their jobs. I would really recommend this hotel for a mini break, you really don’t need to leave the hotel at all..loved it!

  • Liked — Friendly staff - couldn't do enough for you... Like being in someones home!
  • Disliked — emmmmm..... the music at dinner was on repeat!! (Really can't think of anything!)

After recieving a fabulous gift from our partners at Christmas, my friend and myself where given the treat of a two night break including breakfast, 1 evening meal and a Utopia Experience in the beauty salon each, we thought - great a complete pampering session. Boy was that that an experience! On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a very young and incompentant receptionist, who could not give us much detail about the beauty salon in which we were to begin our treatment the following day. She was unable to give us a precise time in which our treatment was to begin and told us to call in the beauty salon and they would fit us in anytime. We attended breakfast the next morning @9.30, after searching for a clean and laid table a waitress who clearly did not wish to be working that morning came to take our order. As we were treating ourselves we went for the full breakfast. After waiting 20 minutes my breakfast eventually arrived however my friends did not arrive until another 15 minutes after asking 2 different waitresses where it was. However after a dissapointing start to the day we still had the 'Utopia Experence' to look forward
to - or so we thought! We called into the Utopia Beauty Salon on route back to our room at 11am to inquire what time our 'experience' began at - little did we know it already had! We where approched by a girl Roisin who informed us that our experience should had began at 10am. We where told that as they had marked out three hours for our service we would only get half the treatment although our partners paid in full. Not only that how could we have possibly known that our treatment began at that time when the salon was closed on the Sunday when we arrived and did'nt open until 10 the next morning! The treatment itself was nothing exciting and should we have known the package we where in for I would have been just as happy to stay in a B&B and go to an ordinary beauty salon for the treatment, at least we may have been treated with manners and dignity else where and treated ourselves properly with the money left over. Unfortunately we where left with no option but to check out that evening with a very understanding assistant manager of Cavan Crystal Hotel Patricia who showered us with apologies, clearly she has fantastic customer service skills unlike the manager of the Utopia Beauty Salon Anna Costello who was very arrogant, continued to talk over us while putting our case forward to her, and unhelpful with the whole situation. We did how ever manage to have a fabulous time in the Hillgrove Hotel in Monaghan where we treated like princess with very friendly and competent staff thruoghout in a great atmosphere.

  • Liked — The appearance of the hotel from the outside
  • Disliked — The beauty salon and its staff

Stayed with my family in the Cavan Crystal Hotel in February overnight for a family wedding.
We arrived at about 4 o'clock had some drinks and joined the wedding party.
The hotel is in a retail type area just outside Cavan town on a very busy main road, no garden area or quiet grounds.
The interior is quite nice but the public bar area was a little cramped and the overflow was in the foyer areas. Maybe the overall space could have been better used to accomodate a larger crowd.
The front house staff were friendly, the rooms comfortable and the food at our wedding party was great.
We had a great time celebrating the weddding!
The breakfast next morning was disappointing and the waiting staff were unhelpful and did not respond to my specific breakfast order.
I thought the hotel quite expensive 80 euro per person per night and this a discount price for the wedding!!!
I mean this is rural Ireland not the centre of Dublin
Overall - A great time, a great family celebration, but the cavan crystal itself seems a little pretentious to claim a return visit from this traveller

Just back from a weekend stay at this 4* Hotel and was not disappointed. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean and comfortable. The restaurant was great for both breakfast and dinner. The bar area was very relaxing. I could not find fault. Perhaps the nicest thing about the hotel was the staff. They were not just polite but very friendly and so efficient in every area of the hotel. I would highly reccommend this hotel.

We stayed at the cavan crystal in october for a night, in advance of a business conference which my wife was orgaininsing there later on that month. First impressions - the hotel is located at the edge of Cavan town, easily accessed from the town bypass. However, it is in a retail-park type area, so be aware of this, as the middle of the town is a small distance away.
Hotel is large, only 2.5 years old, has ample car parking at rear, and is 2-3 stories high ( taller at rear). Hotel has a Cavan Crystal shop/ exhibition off the lobby. The interiors of the hotel are very well designed, the lobby and restaurant areas in particular are excellent, with good use of reclaimed brick , natural wood, a fountain, and what looks like a part of a french chateau as a doorway.
We ate in the 1st floor restaurant , it was excellent. ( last orders were at 10.00, which seemed slightly early) Absolutely no complaints., and afterwards had drinks in the bar downstairs. again, no problems, barman was very friendly. Our breakfast the morning after was wonderful, with a self service buffet area first, then we had cooked breakfasts as well. Service was quick and unobtrusive.
Rooms were large, in immaculate condition, with large bathrooms, again gleaming. I have been trying to think about some problem or fault i could find with this hotel, and i can find none!
Will definitely go back, one of the best irish hotels i have stayed in
