“Excellent pit stop”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

We had no idea where to stop for lunch and luckily noticed the Hard Boiled Egg as we were driving through Cavan. We hadn't read the reviews and it looked quite simple from the outside, but based on how busy it was it seemed a safe bet to try
We ordered the bacon/cheese burger, open faced chicken/goats cheese sandwich and an Italian Job wrap with pesto, sun dried tomatoes, brie & chicken. Service was friendly, food was served quickly and all of our dishes were a good size and very tasty. We were pretty full and shared a piece of chocolate cake but if we travel this way again we will definitely order a sundae as they looked delicious.

“A real find!”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

Passed this on the way to Farnham Estate and stopped for breakfast. What a little gem. A real American style deli with a buzz and a fantastic menu. Eggs Benedict were just ever so slightly overlooked, but still delicious. My husband got the monster breakfast, which truly was massive! We were disappointed we didn't get back to try the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich!

“Well worth a second visit”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

I had never heard of this place but it caught my eye as I was passing through Cavan recently. There seemed to be a good crowd in it when everywhere else seemed relatively quiet.

The menu was good insofar that it wasn't the 'standard' sausage and chips that most Irish cafes might serve. I had one of the wraps with chicken and pesto. It was delicious and competitively priced. The cafe is small and would benefit with some additional floor space but I'm guessing that it easier said that done!

The service was friendly and prompt. The entire cafe seemed to be staffed solely by female staff (all of whom looked like models!) but maybe this was just a coincidence.

The next time I'm in the area I will definitely call back.

“Great all day breakfast”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

Myself and my wife stopped for a quick bite after coming from a funeral on a Saturday.
I had the full breakfast and herself had the 1/2 breakfast. Plenty of toast, brown bread and tea.
We both thought it was excellent.
Great food service and value.
€15.49 for all.
Will definitely go back again.
