Spent two nights in Stella Maris Hotel in the small town of Kilkee and every part of the stay was perfectly fine and adequate. The Stella Maris is an old hotel but clearly has had a nice refurbishment. The downstairs area had a lovely seating area with a roaring fireplace, veranda where breakfast and dinner is served and a bar area. We were warmly greeted and made to feel right at home.

The room (number 2) consisted of two double beds separate by a wall. Each side of the room had its own TV and desk. The windows were also padded for seating, which is probably very nice during spring and summer months. There was also WiFi in the room.

On the whole, the room was perfectly fine, clean and spacious. There are only two downsides to the room. The bathtub is in desperate need of replacing. I would also question the height of the complimentary hand wash and lotion near the sink (very minor niggle). Otherwise, no real complaints

The second downside is that number 2 is located directly above the bar area. Although we were not greatly disturbed by the noise it could be heard once the TV was turned off. However, this did not impede or disrupt sleep. Nonetheless, during the busy high season months or during a function, I see can this being a problem.

There is no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The food served in the restaurant (lunch and dinner) was also good, as well as breakfast. No complaints about the quality (or quantity) of food.

A special note is that during our stay the west coast of Ireland was experiencing the worst winter storms for a very long time. The staff provided me with regular updates on the road conditions and flooding in the area. All advice was much appreciated!

There is no doubt about it - if you visit Kilkee in County Clare and you do not dine at the Stella Maris hotel - you will not have experienced the most exquisite meal and the greatest service. Never mind the Cliffs of Mohr - The Stella Maris cuisine is truly a wonder of the world. Be prepared to want to go back there for a second and third visit - it is really worth a visit.

We visited Kilkee this weekend and called in for something to eat. We had the best fish, chips and peas I've ever had. It really was excellent. The price was very good too. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and were genuine with it. It was nice and warm too with a lovely real fire burning. We liked it so much we went back again the night after and tried different meals again it was beautiful and there was plenty of it. We will definitely go back again.

As a regular to the small town of Kilkee i always visit the Stella Maris.
Last year my sisters wedding was held at this hotel. It was one of the best weekends of my life. The manager of the hotel was so helpful and did a lot of the preparations for us as we are from England. The day went off without a hitch and we really can't thank the Stella Maris enough. All the guest from England were amazed at how brilliant the weekend was. The views and amazing weather probably helped as well!
The food was amazing and always is.
A great place to go for dinner or just for a coffee and a chill out.
They do a brilliant pint of Guinness and I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Lovely atmosphere.
