Stayed for 3 nights (B&B) recently. Room on first floor was clean albeit a bit dated. View was not good as there was a lot of work going on around the place.TV was old but worked ok. Breakfast was in a large room with no view of 'outside'. While choice of cereals was basic, the cooked breakfast was lovely and filling while the brown bread was delicious. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. This was our first stay in this Hotel - we received a very good value for money deal. We look forward to returning in the future when work has been completed and rooms renovated/updated.

Really enjoyed two days with the family . The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good. WIFI was available in the lobby. It is a shame it is not also available in the rooms.

stayed here for 2 nights and must say the staff are excellent. the rooms are a little dowdy and could do with a general uplift but i know its newly taken over and would think by the next time i return things will be top class as there is building work been done.. keep up the good work. food is very good, and a carvery here at busy times would cleanup as there is very little fresh dinners to be got in the town!!

I stayed at this hotel for three nights aug 20th 2013 to aug 23rd. there was a damp smell once we entered the foyer. The policy of paying on arrival left us with no option but to endure a very unpleasant stay at the hotel. One of the bedroom windows could not be closed properly literally had to stuff it to keep out the howling wind. Foreign bodies in jug of juice on breakfast table. Seating in foyer tattered and covered with a blanket. No lifts to bedrooms and smell of cigarette smoke in corridor.Needs to be shut down and completely refurbished. Bed linen out of date and not enough towels supplied.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a week and we really enjoyed it. From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff made us feel welcome and at home. The room was lovely, there was plenty of room for four of us and the windows had a safety catch and didn't open too wide which made it safe for the children. The food was lovely and the service was fantastic. They organised a babysitter for us at short notice one night and made sure we were satisfied with everything. There is a pleasant atmosphere in the bar and the bar staff are friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again. Well done Kilkee Bay

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 17 month old daughter for a family reunion.

The staff were very warm and welcoming, and temporarily made up for the hotel which is very poor. THe ramped access to the main entrance is far too steep for a buggy or sheelchair to be pushed up with ease - it breeches building regulations which is unacceptable in this day and age.
There is no lift in the hotel - again, for first floor bedroom access this is unacceptable. As we had a small child and I am heavily pregnant, my husband and the very nice receptionist were left to carry our luggage up the stairs to our room which is ridiculous.

Our room was adequate, clean and reasonably spacious. There was no acoustic insulation between rooms so we coudl hear theconersations in the rooms either side of us and in the corridor. I'm sure they could hear us and our little one during the night also... not so desirable.

Breakfast was in a small dark little room with no access out into the sunny grassed area to the front of the hotel. Again, to access this are from the dining room, one must cross a corridor and descend a makeshift ramped step which was rather dangerous particularly if one is elderly.
Breakfast was fine - I recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

Overall the hotel is not one you could relax in - it is a large B+B with few amenities. it is not cheap, however, so while it provides poor facilities in the way of a budget hotel, it certainly charges above it's weight considering in particular that is is located in Kilkee and not Central London.

We would only stay in this hotel again if accommodation in Kilkee was unavailable elsewhere, and this is through absolutely no fault of the staff as they were very good.
