Had a very enjoyable stay here with my 3 kids. Unique sort of a place, big indoor dome in the middle where the kids loved playing, could even kick a football about inside.. Had a peak in one of the bell tents with stoves and they looked fab and we wished we'd booked one rather than hauling the tent down. They're very large, the small one looked bigger than our 5 man tent inside. Outdoor kitchen under awnings which was essential as weather was wet while we were there. Shower facilities brand new and spotless. Owner very nice, helped us erect tent and blow up air beds when we arrived. Kids loved it, we hope to go back.

After many hours driving from West Cork, (tired, cross, hungry and impatient!) we found Purecamping on a google search. It looked so interesting and we were keen to explore its environmental approach - this is why we drove to this place rather than any other campsite, its approach seemed fresh and relevant. So we hopped on a ferry over to Kilrush and quickly found the site. We were greeted by two extremely beautiful and friendly dogs, followed soon by Kevin.

We decided to get the bell-tent with the futon bed in it for a bit of luxury. The (2) kids would sleep on the floor as we had loads of bedding and sleeping bags. At 40 euro charge for the night, it was extremely good value for money. The bell-tent is gorgeous, really sturdy and rain-proof with a little wood burning stove and a chandelier of night-lights on the roof. A blanket box and little indian painted table made the whole sleeping experience feel special - for us as well as our children.

Kevin and Trea could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Kevin delivered wood and a chimenea to our door and showed us all around the site. WOW, this place is superb. Kevin and Trea have created a place that begs to to be explored by people who love camping and care about the environment. Its so kid-friendly and really diverse in that there are lots of different types of camping experiences you can have there. There is a massive dome in the centre which had kids books and toyys in it, a life-saver in the rain. This is where Trea holds her yoga sessions, must be amazing to camp there and do a yoga weekend at the same time. There is a home-made sauna that you crawl into which I wish I'd had time to enjoy. A kitchen on site, washing machine, solar powered outdoor showers and eco-loo as well as fully kitted out shower block with toilets.

Amazing views, fantastic camp-site, beautiful tents, kids play area, close to the lovely town of Kilkee. It was quite wet when we were there, soggy ground, so as with any Irish experience, you need to have wellies and weather gear. We cant wait to come back, and couldn't recommend it highly enough.

We didn't feel like camping in Ireland because of the rain (too many bad experiences of being flooded and jumping into the car in the middle of the night) but we like camping abroad so when we read about Kevin and Trea's place in a part of ireland that we don't know very well with the option of bell tents already set up and some of them furnished, we thought it was worth giving it a try. We weren't lucky with the weather but still had a great time. We were there three nights but it felt (in a good sense) much longer - like stepping out of our normal time. It was a real break and the tent was fantastic, a really comfortable futon and a cute little stove to warm the place up. We did some nice cycling in the area, great places to eat too. The people that go to this campsite all seemed very friendly (and kevin and Trea are great too) which was an added bonus - thanks to that man who gave us a drop of milk for our breakfast!

My family and I stayed with Trea and Kevin at their beautiful campsite overlooking the Shannon river. My kids love going and disappear into the den in the trees and playground as soon as we arrive only to emerge hours later for food or sleep. We usually bring our own tent and enjoy real camping in the woodland or meadow with a campfire but this time decided to try out a bell tent. Trea has set up the tent with big comfy beds clean linen duvets etc. we lit the little stove and spent a really cosy warm night.waking up in the morning to the sounds of nature which you won't find in the formal campsites which we are used to. They run an eco site ( solar showers compost loos) but also have a modern toilet/ shower block all of which are clean and warm with plenty of hot water. Theres a big dome to use in rainy weather( trea teaches yoga there)A really lovely friendly place to visit with lots to do in surrounding area .its how camping should be.

Hi
Myself and my two children Christopher 6 and Jocasta 5 spend our Easter weekend with Trea & Kevin @ Purecamping in Querrin. We had a ball camping wild in the centre of the ring fort with our own little fire. My kids were having so much fun at the campsite we barely got to explore Kilkee or Querrin pier. A lovely location, superb facilities and memorable people..... We will definitely return for another camping trip soon. They even have rent-a-belltents on site and a dome for hanging out in and playing games. 5 *****

Room Tip: Bell tents to rent or bring your own tent!!!
