Our family of 5 rented this house for 2 weeks this Summer. It could not have been more perfect. The house itself is very large and very well maintained with a spectacular view of Lough Derg. It was so relaxing to sit on the balcony each evening with a glass of wine. The house is so well equipped and we had everything we could possibly need. The large back garden and swing set were perfect for our kids. The home owner Niamh was very accommodating and very responsive to any of our questions. We left some kids electronics behind when we left and she very kindly hand delivered them to a family members house 10 miles away! We intend to return to Killaloe in 2 years and we hope to stay here again.
Everything was great with our one week stay at this property. Niamh was quick to respond to any and all communications from the start of the booking process to the end of the rental period. We had one issue upon arrival, which was no fault of the owners, and it was resolved immediately.
The house was our base for touring the west and south of Ireland. We visited Galway, Aran Islands, Limerick, Cork, and Kilkenny areas.
The house was just as shown in the pics, and items like laundry soap, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, etc were all provided.
We made use of the grill to make burgers two nights. There were teas and coffees, spices, tin foil, plastic wrap and other items provided in the kitchen.
The upper deck was awesome for views of the river and surrounding countryside.
I can’t say enough good about this property. If we ever get to Ireland again, we won’t hesitate to contact Niamh!
As we walked in the front door all I could hear was WOW!! From the fully equipped spacious kitchen and eating area to the grand room that had a view of the Shannon River that was spectacular. There is a TV room off to the side that is well stocked with movies, none really needed with the every changing view of the river. We were traveling with our 3 children and the house was perfect for us all. Niamh has made this home a perfect spot for a family to make a temporary home to explore this part of Ireland. The town of Ballina and Killaloe were quant and welcoming. We managed to drive to the Cliffs of Moher and to Bunratty Castle in a day. The house was also within walking distance of both towns which was a huge plus for us. I would come back to this location again in the future.
Fab holiday for family of 5...every thing available for our use in the house, down to books, games, toilitries and even essential kitchen items...
but the view takes the prize, even when it was raining, with the doors open, and the clean air, what more can one ask for...
Comfortable beds and showers, warmth and a real sense of this being a family home, not just a holiday home. Thanks foe everything...
Would like to return some day,,,
Perfect location for day trips which we took to Cork, Killarney, Cliffs of Moher, Dingle (early start), Kylemore Abby, Bunratty castle and Limerick, Waterford, and Dublin. We also spent a few local days enjoying the Wilde Irish Chocolates from Tuamgraney, and the local pubs. It was nice having a full kitchen and washer and dryer to keep our luggage under the limit coming over so we could stuff them with trinkets going home. Our hostess Niamh was also very responsive in answering a few travel questions before our arrival at the Shannon airport, which was only a 40 minute drive from the house. A great first experience in Ireland.
We had no hassle at all staying here rather it was all taken care of thoughtfully by the owner.
The place is clean and spacious and the balcony overlooking Lough Derg is a daily treat to look out from.
The area is great and we were guided by Niamh's helpful instructions.
