“Pity about the table covers”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

Went to Browns on the Green for our anniversary and it was our first time there.
The service was good and the food was very nice (but I would have liked a bigger portion).
You only get the choice of one side portion and you have to pay extra.

In my opinion there was too many tables in the room and that made the place feel over crowed . But what let it down for me was the plastic table cloths, for a fine dining restaurant I would have expected cloth.

The restaurant is NOT wheel chair accessible as it is upstairs.

“Excellent”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

Went to Browns on The Green with a party of 10. The food was superb and the service excellent. When we first sat down, there was a vibration noise (maybe the air condition) the manager responded in a very profession manner and moved us to another table after our starters. We will visit this restaurant again

“Tasty food in a charming spot”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

We booked in for two on a Sunday evening and were pleasantly surprised with how quite the restaurant was. We were able to sit by the window and look down the rolling hills, so pretty, you can even glimpse the lake.
The waiting staff were all lovely and friendly and not at all obtrusive, friendly welcome and we were seated immediately.
The best thing about this dinner was the peace, it was really lovely, great music in the background and plenty of space.
We went for dinner and desert and a bottle of red from the long list of wines, and overall we were very happy.
I had the steak, followed by the lemon posset and my boyfriend had the scallops and chocolate cake. We ordered a bottle of Cote de Rhone and it was beautiful, my boyfriend also ordered a glass of house white for the main meal and it was crisp and sweet and perfect for his seafood dinner.
I asked for my steak medium rare and it came out medium to well done in places, a bit tough, so maybe order rare if you like a little juice in your steak. The scallops were lovely tho, lightly seasoned. The accompanying mash was great, light and fluffy and we ordered a pine nut dressed salad which was pleasant but nothing spectacular.

The deserts were fantastic, lovely presentation and the flavors were just perfect could not have been happier! Nicest lemon desert I've had in a while. The sorbet that accompanied the chocolate cake was worth a mention too, Yum!

We took a taxi as we were both drinking, so from the town, about €10 each way.

Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable dinner, left feeling very pleased.

“Great Food and Great Service”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

We booked a table for 2 on a week nigh and availed of the early bird Menu. It was great value at €24.95 with a great selection of starts and main courses. Some of the options cost extra but it still offers great value for money.
The food was really fab, especially the lobster and crab ravioli. The service was perfect.
This restaurant is a great addition to Letterkenny and we will definitely be back.

What a gem, located away from the town which is perfect. Not much choice in Letterkenny and this is by far the stand out place to eat. Great food, brillant service and what a view overlooking the golf course. Worth a visit....you will be back.
