be prepared to walk about 2 hrs, one of which very boggy. But once there the view is incredible... make sure to leave early enough before the fog arises

“this attraction is the actual MOUNTAIN!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2009

i notice that people appear to have got confused between the actual mountain and the hotel in Letterkenny. im not quite sure how a hotel could be classified as an attraction, but hey. so.... mount errigal is the hightest peak in county donegal. it's suitable for anyone with a fair level of general fitness. spectacular views on a good day. pretty dangerous on a bad day. general common sense applies obv! well worth both the views and the sense of achievement.

“Great Family Outing in Donegal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2008

Errigal is Donegal's highest mountain and offers spectacular views of the Donegal islands and mountains. You can view all of Gweedore, the Rosses and Cloughaneely from the top.
Tip: Do a google images search for Errigal Mountain to see how spectacular the views are.

This is a great walk for all the family. We did it with our youngest (aged 6) and he had no problems with it. It is a walk rather than a climb. Just make sure to bring a camera!

Afterwards we went to the nearby Dunlewy Lakeside Centre which had loads of traditional arts and crafts on display.

Very nice part of the country.
