I'm not one for complaining in restaurants but The Station House has the dubious honour of being the first I've ever felt the need to do so in. Went for a meal with friends, can't complain about the starters, were nice enough but found that the somewhat scatty waitress messed up our orders for the two courses (off the early bird menu) I cant' blame her though for the black leather 'medium/well done steak which had dried out from cooking for way too long, and the lukewarm side orders which arrived with it. Replacement steak was cooked to my spec but was mostly gristle and tough as old boots. Veg consisted of what looked like the contents of one of those cheap packs of roughly chopped soup veg that you can buy in the supermarket. By way of apology which we appreciated, we were given complimentary coffees and a 10% reduction on our bill but unfortunately, I can't recommend it to friends and I won't be going back there in a hurry.
