a great visitors centre/car park at the entrance where you can rent bikes for the hour/day and a bus or walk to the castle. the catle and gardens provide walks for everone with wonderful views and gardens. The tea rooms have a wonderful array of home bakes and good coffees, great at the end of a lovely walk. first class tours of the casle itself as well. as good as any stately home with eccentric touches.

cant reccomend it enough

The guided tour was great thanks to the guide who was funny and so thoughtful! The rooms, the furniture, the gardens all is perfect. A pleasant setting, a nice walk... We really enjoyed our day.

Glenveagh Castle and Gardens are a must if you visit wonderful Donegal. The gardens are free and absolutely gorgeous in late April when we visited. Everyone we knew in Ireland had raved about their beauty before we went, and we were not disappointed. They were only far better than expected. There is a small fee for the castle tour which is totally worth it. There is a fascinating history of wealth, intrigue, and mysterious death for this castle and its owners over the last century. The furnishings are magnificent, and the story behind them and the castle is even better. There are excellent hikes around and en route to the castle. The 1.5 kilometer circuit of the grounds leads to a high rocky point with an unforgettable view of the castle, lough (lake), and mountainous setting.
