“Letterkenny choice for the night”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

We arrived about 7pm after a hectic ride up from from Belfast. Tired and staved we checked in at the Gallagher's Hotel, 100 Main St. Letterkenny. We walked down Main St. to find a place to eat late on a Sunday night .What a surprise to find the Lemon Tree Restruant open and crowded with local dinners. This place is small but has a wonderful romantic and friendly atomsphere. I ordered the goat cheese biscuit for a starter and pan fried Monk fish. My wife had a great salad and baked salmon special.
The goat cheese was light and creamy and the Monk fish excellent. My wife commented the she had not had better salmon since arriving in the Hebrides.
Islands at beginning of the of our trip. We highly recommend this gem if you enjoy great local cooking. Great atomsosphere.

“Its ok but over priced.”
Reviewed June 2, 2014 via mobile

This is what you would describe as a snug restaurant. We ate there for mothers day, as the title says, its ok. The food is pretty average but the presentation is good and fairly fast. However, it is a little over priced for the quality of the food and the closed in feeling of the room.

“superb gem”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

just an ordinary un assuming little restaurant on the high street or so we thought! the food was out of this world. We were warmly greeted, various bread provided before an entrée ( not asked for - just given ) of pea/ham soup and another appetiser. Starters came quickly and were wonderfully presented( mushrooms for me + a cheese one for daughter) Main courses - we both chose fish Mine the sea bass done in herbs that was cooked to perfection with a lemony sauce on herb mash with a side order of fresh veg. Daughters = salmon - once again presented perfectly and tasted divine. the dessert we had to share as there was no way our stomachs would cope with one each after such fantastic mains. We had a bottle of wine with the meal and the whole lot came to less than 90 euros Money very well spent - best meal I have had in years My daughter had been to one of these very expensive 'taster menu meals' some weeks ago and claimed that this meal was sooooo much better. This is a very un assuming restaurant with a high quality of food, service, presentation .There was nothing we would change. It was brilliant Thoroughly recommended
