Description: The Lemon tree is a Letterkenny owned family run restaurant opened in 1999. The three brothers in the kitchen have a unique style with a mixture of traditional Irish and French classic, influenced by country house cooking which was collected by their many years experience all over Irleand. All meats are Irish sourced and fresh fish is a special feature. Everthing is made freshly on site including all breads, pastries, pastas and desserts. The Wine list is ever growing and includes something for all tastes. The restaurant offers a Early bird menu 7 days available from 5 - 7 pm and a full A la carte menu from 5 - 10 PM. Lunch is available from 1 - 2:30 PM on Sunday

“Five out of Five”
Reviewed April 20, 2014 via mobile

Visited Letterkenny on business and on walking around the town myself and my colleague came across The Lemon Tree. The food and wine was excellent and the staff friendly. As a main I had a beef and lamb which although sounding a strange combination was really really good.

“Really lovely food”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

This restaurant deserves really high praise. The meal we had here last week was one of the best we have ever had anywhere. Following a taster portion of delicious bacon and cabbage soup for both of us, I chose the goats cheese starter and he chose the scallops, which he said were perfect. My starter was sublime: the blend of tastes and textures was amazing. For mains he had monkfish and I had 'simple' pan fried chicken on a mushroom risotto. We shared sides of garlic potatoes and a vegetable selection. Again the balance of tastes, textures and flavours was superb and the food was presented beautifully. We shared a dessert of lemon tart, meringue and sorbet that was light and perfectly balanced. Two decaf coffees finished off our meal. The total cost was just over 90 euro including a bottle of chilled Chablis!
The service was excellent and there is a lovely ambience in this small restaurant. The menu cites all the sources of the food, and local produce is used as much as possible.
Full marks to chefs, waiters and management.

“lovely meal”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

Stopped in for a meal on the way back home through Letterkenny and have to say it was one of the best meals I've had in a while, food was well presented and some unique dishes one of which I had that featured quail and was delicious. service was also attentive and quick and the complimentary bread and soup between courses was also a nice touch.
